It's been a while since I've been asked this type of question so thanks for being curious !
Inspiration is sometimes a tough thing to pin point especially because everything in my everyday life is just so inspiring as of late. But speaking more specially the inspiration I use to come up with ideas to paint and draw usually come from the following:
- watching nature and social documentaries , sci-fi movies and shows are also a big part of my inspiration.
- Dreaming from every stand point. when I'm in bed, taking naps, and also day dreaming.
With my head always up in the clouds it's helped me spawn some marvelous random ideas..
- Music is part of the motivation but many times inspires an idea from the lyrics or emotion that the songs trigger.
- Art history, art culture. It's helped me explore different styles and introduced me to new techniques. You'd be surprised what has already been done before but it's fun to borrow an idea and evolve it to your own time period and style.
- Tattoo culture as a whole. It is so incredibly in depth and comes from so many cultures, backgrounds, and has many meanings & purposes. Over all it has influenced me as much as Fine Art History.
- Friends and family are truly inspiring, especially their support. It's what keeps me going!
- Art supplies shopping and Thrifting. So many times finding a new medium or a fancy vintage frame is enough to makeup me create for it.
- My job at a print shop. I've learned so much since I've started working there and so much of this knowledge I've applied to my own work at home. Usually i get off work incredibly motivated and inspired from some of the projects so I just spend my days creating as much as possible..
I could probably go on but I feel like I've mentioned the important stuff. Its all in what you make of life and how to look at things. Everyone is certainly unique in their process which is why it's neat to see how others find their inspiration . Glad I could share this! -
Aweh boo ! I did a google search for art supplies in Vic and at least I see you'e got an Opus & a Michael's , which isn't too bad. And There is always special ordering online :)
Acrylic Inks and pen inks are a lot of fun especially with how vibrant they can get. What brand of inks are are trying out??! Looking forward to see what you plan on doing with them :)
Also Thanks for the compliment on my latest drawing , it's been a bit of a challenge figuring out how to push it to the next level and myself a bit further.. But so far It's been a good learning experience. Hopefully the painting stage will also be a good challenge .

Why have you seen it happen recently? Well to answer the question yes, I mean who would like not being credited for their hard work? When I find artworks I enjoy I often research further and try to see who the artist is. When you don't credit it's really unfair . Not to mention tumblr is nutritious for art theft :( ... Why spent hours and hours creating something beautiful to share with the world if no one respects it. Yuck , those kind of people make me sick.

If only the world was perfect and people had more opportunities to just share their time with others and be around those friends who are encouraging and inspiring ... But the giant rat race has caught us in the trap. At least there is nothing saying we can't keep trying though , right?

I'll tell you if you tell me who you are. What my family did to me doesn't need to be publically shared. At least In my opinion .. I've already been politely asked in private from those who are respectful so I obviously was able to open up on a mature level. Call me paranoid but I have trust issues with public info on the Internet...

It sure has been crazy just planning it, I can only imagine how much more it will be on moving day. I'd like to wish you congrats on your success from taking such a risk. I too am moving in with a bf after the same amount of time as you and even though it can have its uncertainties I think the risks are worth it. Its really reassuring to hear that from you so I'd like to thank you for submitting this. :D

Not a whole ton of fun things right now. Just trying to get starting on some paintings to fill up the empty walls at home.
