      It is a group that consider themselves the enlightened. What people on tumblr are referring to are the Bavarian Illuminati. They are the people who were the evilly motivated. They have biblical references in Revelations. They are the secret group that will oppose christ in his second coming. Freemasonry is linked to this organization as well. Hense why many of todays celebrities are accused of being part of the Illuminati. It is far to complicated to simply give a one sentence answer. If you like you can just google it.
