If we were in a movie about two best friends with the same first name, which historical film movement/genre would it best fit?
It would be a teenage drama which would be filmed in the seventies and take place in the fifties. We'd be teenage detectives who investigate a murder at our high school and the boys at school would carry our books down the hallway and we'd wear cute fifties dresses. It would end up being the principle that’s an alcoholic and forced to do it from pressure of the mob and representing the corruption of America. We would be the idealized America who throughout the film become less and less innocent as the film progresses as we become exposed to the REAL America. The principle would be played by Richard Burton. Sam Peckinpah would have a cameo as the bar tender who gives us some important information at a crucial moment. It would be praised later on for having an Asian woman in the lead but often viewed as not going far enough when it came to the portrayal of women. It received a fair amount of praise critical and had some success but later became a cult classic.
