Once, there was another stick-avatar just like me. He was my first and only friend. There will never be another like him. We had fought many battles together. We had walked the battlefields of Hell side by side. We laughed together. We cried together. Alas, one day he took a hit meant for me from a large fruitcake. You know, the kind that gets passed around forever every Christmas. This one was an especially hard one that had been passed down from generations of people. The blow was fatal. In his dying moments, I tore out one of my three hairs that he'd always admired and buried it with him. A part of me will always be with him.

That's why I only have two hairs. I used to have three.

What makes you think a dignified and refined woman such as I would ever be found shoving little children out of the way to go down first on a slide or some such nonsense? Or heavens. Sending tremors through the swings to make the swinging experience unpleasant for other---- oh all right. I do still play on playgrounds.

The best piece of playground equipment ever invented is actually the zipline. It is by far, the best. Nothing like hurtling yourself at dangerous speeds across the playground, with nothing to hold onto, but that little bar there.

The second best piece of playground equipment is the rope bridge. Nothing beats terrorizing others as they try to walk across a bridge being shook by a crazy maniac.

In any event, swings come in a close third, as you can ninja kick someone and retreat before they even know what hit them. If they decide to return aggressive action, you then have the choice of jumping directly on top of them. Soft cushioned landing coupled with "I hate waiting for the swing to lose momentum when I want to get off." syndrome. It is win/win.

At one point in your young, young life, monkey bars are great fun. Then one sad day, you realize your arm strength is no longer proportional to your overall weight and instead of gliding across those bars, it feels like you're transporting the Titanic across them and all you really want is for an iceberg to hit you and sink you so you no longer have to feel the burn in your arms.

It's hard not being a kid anymore. It's hard and no one understands.

Finally, any kid who has really spent their childhood on a playground as opposed to sitting in front of a screen knows nobody actually likes slides. Water slides are a different matter.

The number of slides I've actually slid down are significantly much less than the number of slides I've run up or down, due to the fact that any playground-smart kid knows people spit down the slides on a daily basis.
