I haven't but I can take a look into it. It sounds interesting but only when I find time to.

Sorry for the late reply again. Haven't checked this in weeks. It was part of my own work ethic. I wasn't the only one that got it too. A lot of people go it for getting a certain GPA and maintaining a certain grade during the school year in 2nd or higher year of Spanish. You can do that too for other languages. But it depends on the teacher and department.

Game, talk to someone who lives in California, read, or stare at the ceiling till I forget about the reason why I can't fall asleep....

Why do you say that? I'm friends with a lot of other people that I don't get any benefit from whatsoever. They are what I call real friends. For example, old friends back in Chicago. I rarely see them anymore. But I still keep in touch with them and I've been nice to them for as long as I remember. How am I benefiting from that?

I won't flame towards such a poor accusation. But, I'd love to know why you'd think I'm nice only to certain people.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the present.

Don't fret about it. If you think about it on a national scale, it is probably better than a lot of kids out there. The less you think about your scores and grades, the better. Worry more about what you learn from in school and other activities. It will help you write a good essay. ^^

Haha, I hope you're asking before Senior year. My GPA was weighted 4.56 and unweighted was about a 3.6 range. GPA is important to get a perspective on where you stand academically. Some schools look at it more importantly than others, some don't. Obviously, if you have a very low GPA, something happened academically to cause that. If you can state your case for the GPA drop, then you're good. For example, if someone passed away in your family and it was before a term paper was due. You couldn't turn it in and it made cost you your semester grade. You turn it in late, but your teacher doesn't accept late assignments. Your grade takes a plummet, and so does your GPA depending on how well it was to begin with. If it was significant, then you can mention in your app that something happened in your family that was more important to you than your grades, and they will understand.

Admissions counselors are not inhumane. They understand things happen. But you have to be convincing and use their time wisely because they only spend so much time on one applicant. Best thing to do is to not judge yourself or other people based off their GPA but who they are as a whole person. If you can get over the idea that grades are everything, then you are in for the gold. Grades are important. But so is a social life.

My mom always compared me to one of her colleague's sons who is an academic prodigy who I cannot live up to for my life. But when it came to colleges, I got into the school of my choice whereas he didn't. He was a valedictorian too. I helped him edit his speech for graduation. So, if that doesn't put anything into perspective, I don't know what will. Kids with academics and kids with a life and kids with a balanced lifestyle are completely different things. I hope you will understand and see this. It takes awhile, but hey, I fought for that idea for four years (till now) and won out in the end. Feel free to ask anything at all. I'm glad to tell you about what I think you should do as a student getting ready for college.

Some parents requested the photos from me because the ones already online are degraded. The original comes with the full resolution and they can do with whatever they want with it. Some people like it, some people don't. It doesn't matter to me. I just can't make prints for them because I don't have the technology or lab to do that nor time. Most I can do is burn a CD with all the images saved for them.

My goal in life is to help kids who have diseases and that need proper medical care. That is why I want to be a pediatrician.

I take a mix of classes from 3 to 4 to even 9 since some classes can only be taken like that. I personally dislike the level system but it does have its benefits. It is mainly to prevent students that are slower learners than others to understand the material at a reasonable pace but also learn everything. However, that is dependent on how good your teacher is and the motivation of the student's will to learn.

But that is another story. I suggest that you don't worry about the level system as much. Take the classes you want to take and be able to show that you learned from taking those courses in your essays and transcript (though NT is notorious for GPA inflation like many other schools of this time and day).

I did volunteer for a social service group called Misericordia. But pick a volunteer group that you want to join and that you choose yourself instead of being forced to by your parents. You will have a better time and you'll meet new people as well as experience new things.
