Yes okay that is your answer. Box color contains the highest amount of ammonia in order to "process" faster. It processes faster by using the high powered chemical mixture to blow open the cuticle of your hair so it can open up enough for the color molecule to penetrate quickly. The problem this creates is that it sacrifices the integrity of your hair in exchange for quick and easy. You should never use anything above a 20 volume developer for what you are trying to achieve color wise & should invest a little more in buying real hair color. eBay and amazon have plenty of this. Wella is reasonably priced and easy to get without a license. Your new growth feels different because it is finer because it has been untainted by the chemical processes.

Not sure if this was the whole message but yes the blue or purple shampoos for blonde or white hair will make your hair a little cooler & more ashy with repeated uses.

Hypothetically, I would have done a political science to law school thing.
