This is something you really should take up with a club near you (or seek out Gymnastics NSW); most have experience in taking on student-athletes and work out a training program that suits you and your daughter without compromising, for example, her staying at the school she's in or your working schedules. Often, tutoring programs are offered to support the development of elite athletes in training. When in doubt... simply ask around! Other parents are full of answers and advice.

Absolutely, once I get a laptop. Everything I've filmed in the last three months will go up at the ozgymblog youtube account.

A forum is what people make it. I don't think WWGym will be closing down in a hurry. I know the aussies that use it do enjoy it there.

I am in no way trying to discourage people from starting or joining in discussions. Fact is, with the Anon function in place it was easy for discussions to go haywire, and for people to leave anonymous negativity like a drive-by slanderer, and I have been trying hard for a long time to eliminate that. A lot of blogs out there do not have an anonymous commenting function and they cope just fine. There are plenty people with gmail and livejournal etc accounts (and frankly I think gmail is a fantastic email tool for people to use if they are not already) who just have to sign in before commenting. Really, it's not like I am making people run a commando course before leaving a comment. And admittedly the focus of the blog is not "the information marquee at a gym club open day" for parents to ask about the best clubs or whathaveyou. GA has resources for that function.
I wasn't kidding when I said I have thought about setting up a forum with state-centric sub forums, and a "new to gymnastics" parents section, and a "discuss levels below elite int'l here" section and a "discuss int'l elite here" section. I know full well there are a lot of people that want to have discussions and I am trying to create a harmonious and organised environment in which to do that. -
Fair enough. But believe me, discussions were getting way too long and unwieldy. And of course the anonymous function was a blessing and a curse.
-
I was sincerely hoping not to, and believe me when I say it was not a decision made lightly. If people are genuinely keen on contributing then they will sign up for a Google, Blogger or OpenID and keep on posting. Especially if something sparks their interest and they're not familar with using forums. If you were me and had my email inbox you'd probably consider disabling anonymous commenting after a while too. It got too much and people were veering way off topic (admittedly not a lot of new content was being generated to complement relevant discussion but I am working on that; and I have always encouraged people to shift lengthy exchanges to forums).

Sorry, I am having trouble finding an answer for you. According to one source it's called "Eastbound" but I can't seem to confirm this. Sorry!
-
Ok, I will try and find the comment/commenter and pass it on when I can. Thanks kindly.

I did. I started artistic when I was quite young, and competed until I was thirteen; I then took up sport arobics which I did until I was eighteen.
-
I am working on it! I am guessing if Foxtel air it at all, it will be on Fox Sports well after the event is over. Once I find a livestream I will post a link at AGB.
-
I competed in artistic up to (Australian) level 5. I then competed sport aerobics.

Thanks very much! No I am not currently in Delhi (though I would very much like to be)! The gymnastics events are being streamed live over the internet, and broadcast live on Australian cable television. I am doing 'quick hits' and observations as Aussies appear on my screen.

Good equipment suppliers (that provide equipment for Olympic and World Championships equipment) include Jansen-Fritsen, Gynova or Acromat. Good luck

You'd probably want to check with Gymnastics Australia (www.gymnastics.org.au), they have a "Club Search" function on their site that allows you to find suitable centres near your location, and links to their contact details.

Definitely another USA-China tussle for the top team spot. Russia and Romania will doubtless get in there. 5th could be anyone's - Japan and Great Britain are looking super strong, though of course I'd love Australia to slide in there too. All-Around is anyone's guess!
-
Unfortunately, I don't know what it's called but I CAN ask her for you!
-
Not sure about that one. You may want to check a WAG technical manual or with a coach who would know better than me.
-
You flatter my psychic powers too much. ;) Angela has been one to watch since 2008 when she shone in the IDP10 division. She definitely caught my attention in the Waverley training session I attended as well. We [the fans] had a feeling the YOG spot would come down to her or Georgia Rose Bown. But thanks!
-
I am quite unsure about this one. You might want to check the Gymnastics Australia website's technical information tab.
-
I am disappointed they didn't stream Nationals this year. I'm hoping live tweets and/or Facebook coverage will kick in once the Senior and Junior WAG competition gets underway.
