I am irrationally afraid of dogs. Apparently I was bitten when I was very little.
I have a rational fear of extra-tall ladders. I'm not exactly where this comes from, but my dad breaking his wrist by falling off a regular sized ladder back in the 90s prolly doesn't help. -
I think your question/statement was cut off. But yeah, it seems like early "indoctrination" of Christianity either revs kids up or totally alienates them.
-
Why, are you trying to defeat my alter ego?
YOU WILL NEVER DEFEAT ME!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
Unless you make me run. My asthma will defeat me.
...
Is being fat a physical weakness?
I like to think of it as extra padding during the winter.
But I have no excuse for it in the summer.
Except that it makes me cuddly. :) -
I have an Xbox 360, and my mom has a Wii.
And I still have my Sega Genesis, and Dreamcast, a pair of Gameboys (one original and one pocket), a PS2, and a PSone.
All of this has been accumulated over a long time. The 360 gets the most work, but I wouldn't trade that old Genesis for anything. -
Hmm. This I do not know. I'm a Baptist, and we hold no such belief.
I did some looking up, though, because I thought maybe the Catholics believed something like this. But nope, no support there either.
I think this idea comes from Dante's Inferno, which refers to 9 circles of hell. Each circle is for a particular sin, getting progressively worse (I think). Here's a Wikipedia link: http://bit.ly/6kJAvc
I really don't know what to think of it. All i know is that I don't particularly want to find out firsthand. And as a Christian, I don't believe I will.
On a side note:
No offense meant at all, but I never understood the appeal of atheism. I'm sure you say the same of Christianity, but I just can't figure out what of think of atheism. Do you believe it because of the lack of definitive proof? The hypocritical ways of many Christians? General lethargy? I think I have trouble with it because I was raised in and around Christian beliefs and morals.
And I'm weird. -
I'm a righty. My dad is a lefty, though.

As a matter of fact, I currently own 3 iPods: a fairly new iPod Classic, a 2nd gen iPod Shuffle, and a 1st gen iPod Touch (that is now in my mom's possession), plus my iPhone.
Don't judge me, I've had reasons for all of them. the iPod Classic is for holding EVERYTHING, the Shuffle was going to be part of an art project, and the Touch came with my MacBook Pro. Also, I could be classified as an Apple fanboy, though I know Apple's limits better than most. I just accept them and move on to the Windows smashing. ;)
According to Last.fm, my Top Artists are the Beatles, Mates of State, the New Pornographers, Green Day, Regina Spektor, Relient K, God Help the Girl, and Death Cab for Cutie.
All of those pretty well sum up my major music. I can tell you that Green Day is kinda on the downfall for me. I've just worn them out a little. Until they get off their rock opera kick, anyways.
Otherwise, there's Gold Motel, Motion City Soundtrack, Sufjan Stevens, Paramore, and the Decemberists. And my recent expansion into jazz, with Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane, Ella Fitzgerald, and Miles Davis.
SO! Generally my favorite genre is Alternative, Alt-rock, rock, pop, whatever it gets classified as. And some oldies. And slowly some jazz. I'm also partial to classical and musicals.
The song I play the most right NOW? This week, again according to Last.fm, is "Safe in L.A." by Gold Motel, which is pretty awesome. I've also been listening to "Tears of the Saints" by Leeland quite a bit lately. Also "Baby You're Blind" by God Help the Girl.
It should be said, though, that currently my favorite band is Mates of State. Gold Motel is probably second. And I think I'm getting on a major Relient K kick here pretty quick...
Yeah, if you can't tell, I'm extremely passionate about my music, my musical tastes, and hearing other people's stuff (as long as it doesn't suck. ;) I'm looking to go into the music business at some point, in some way.
Oh, here's my Last.fm page:

I'm not gay.
Sometimes I'm happy, but not very often.
Sometimes it bothers me that I'm not always happy. Does that count? -
Fabulous question.
In ten years, I should either have my degree in ninjary, or being flipping burgers on a pirate ship waiting for a promotion.
Seriously, I hope to have graduated from a good music business or production program, and be working in music. Maybe behind the board, mixing and producing for bands. Maybe in the office, running something at a label. Maybe in the field, selling bands I believe in. I think I'd like production the most because of the close contact with music, but the business side has a much more definite future. I'll make a decision on that based on some of the classes I take the next couple of years. Either way, I don't need to be making big bucks. Just enough to live relatively comfortably.
(I could live in an apartment the rest of my life and be happy)
I don't expect to get married, due to my eternal curse to be single, but I'd like to be. In ten years, who knows? I'd like to have kids by then.
I love kids.
Definitely not living in Ohio. I want to live in a city, be it Chicago, NYC, LA, heck even Columbus at this point. Again, in ten years who knows? Just not here please.
Take me where the music is.
Even then, I just want more than anything to be happy. Financially secure is a close second.
And at some point in the next ten years, I'd like to finally get to me @Jewles and the gang.
;) -
Marc's in Strongsville. Again. I worked there in the produce department from July 2005 to February 2008.
-
Despite my complete obsession with music, I didn't start going to concerts until the middle of 2008, when I was 22 years old. Surprise! (That first one was the Honda Civic Tour, featuring Panic At the Disco, Motion City Soundtrack, the Hush Sound, and Phantom Planet)
But I've been to several since then.
The best is hard to narrow down, but here's 3:
1. Relient K headlines the House of Blues Cleveland on Halloween 09. It was sweet because they played 'Deathbed', an 11 minute piece of brilliance that you don't expect to get live. IT WAS FABULOUS.
2. Mates of State headlines at the Grog Shop 8/3/09. This was great just because it's my favorite band, in a smallish venue, with some great openers.
3. Gold Motel headlines the Grog Shop 1/17/10. This was good because I got to chat with the lead singer, Greta Morgan Salpeter (who also sang for the Hush Sound). And chatting with a musician you like? Instant good concert. -
I've never been one to spend lots of money on clothes. Goodwill was my friend for many years.
That being said, I like to look halfway presentable. I can't afford the other half.
The most I've ever spent on a pair of shoes was probably a pair of Converse All-Stars, about $80. My favorite shoes.
Otherwise, I spent $90 on a Marc Ecko Star Wars hoodie. Because I'm a nerd like that, and it was my birthday. -
Right now? Trying to find out what classes I should take at CCC that will transfer to either Belmont University or Capital University. Capital has a nice chart, but I'll hafta email and call Belmont.
In the meantime, I need to decide where to apply for a job. Cuz having money to pay one's bills is nice.
This is not fun. What's fun right now...
I'm gonna get the new She and Him album as soon as i get a chance. Have you heard it? It sounds like a good extension of their first one.
Also, I'm going to preorder the New Pornographers' new album (on vinyl. cuz vinyl is lovely) as soon as I have employment. Those guys (and gal) get my mojo going...
I'm also thinking about #chsh tweetup. I have a place I can stay (cuz @Jewles is that cool), but if I'm working by then, I need to make sure I can get off first. Are you going?
Record Store Day, too.
And my sister comes home from school in Italy next month. That'll be nice.
So right now? Spending too much time online. And playing video games. And reading 3 books at the same time. Because they need to go back to the library soon.
Sorry for the rambling.
...
How the heck are you today? -
This one has me stumped a bit.
I say "It never hurts to make sure" quite a bit, and I do live by it a lot. I came up with it while playing Halo, shooting already dead people.
"HEY. IT NEVER HURTS TO MAKE SURE."
That's about it, really. -
Previous relationships? What previous relationships?
I've never had a girlfriend, never been kissed, once danced with a girl. In 24 years of life.
I complain, but it usually doesn't bother me so much these days.
I really haven't had a real crush in about 5 years either.
So the answer to your second question would be no. Probably definitely no.
Please keep the questions coming. You can literally ask me just about anything and I will probably answer.

Eh. She never really did anything for me.
No offense.
;) -
Sorry. I took a shower the other day, but I spent most of the day in a van, sitting on top of the heater.
-
Um, no? If I absolutely had to rate myself, I'd say 5, maybe 6.
And that spork? IS MADE OF TITANIUM. You'd love it too. It's been in my mouth. -
Smart girls. I love intelligent women. The type of smart gal that would rather you learn what she's talking about that flaunt it.
Though some flaunting is understandable.
Being a man, I do like a good body. But I like an intelligent beauty. You know what I mean?
And she gotta like alternative music. And respect the oldies. Like the Beatles.
Anything else? I don't consider myself especially picky.
