Right now I have a 13" Black MacBook (a BlackBook?), which I'm thinking of selling and replacing with a 21.5" iMac with a 3.06GHz processor and ≥8GB RAM, if only to be able to edit these 720p/1080p video clips faster. And I guess you could count my iPhone 3Gs as a computer as well, but I doubt that's what you meant by your question.

Asides from the issue of non-portability (which I don't mind, since these days I can do nearly everything that needs to be done outdoors on my iPhone, assuming I need a device at all), I haven't really been able to come up with any other cons with regard to getting a new iMac over a new MacBook Pro.

So yeah, if you think of any reasonable advantages (besides portability) for getting a laptop over a desktop, please let me know and I'll take it into consideration. Most of the time I use my BlackBook plugged, in closed-lid mode, into a 20" external monitor with a keyboard and mouse anyway, so that's what made me recently consider whether finally getting an Apple desktop might be a better bang-for-buck situation than the one I have right now.
