Currently reading: Bret Easton Ellis' "Lunar Park"-- finished right before that was ArchEnemy, the 3rd sequel in the Looking Glass Wars series...

Half of the meals the Beau cooks... dating a chef has its advantages! I love a good flank steak, mashed potatoes, and asparagus... with a side of white wine. That he DIDN'T cook? Mexican at El Torito in Indiana. Amazing every time.

Probably all of my girlfriends who suggested I give up on the Beau... I knew deep down that it was right. Patience got me what I wanted!

I don't have the jam bandit photos anymore! Sadly, over the years and multiple computer changes, I've lost a lot of photos from that era...

Wow! What a toughie... When I started out my blog, it was supposed to be strictly fashion. Yet, I find myself not writing about fashion as much. I find the posts that make me feel like I'm making a difference are ones where I can share some sort of expertise with others or share an experience that may inspire them (the Corsetry series & developing your color palette series both spring to mind). Of course, the amazing feedback I receive on posts like that reinforce that feeling. Likewise, it inspires me (and puts pressure on me!) to provide those same in-depth, thoughtful, and reactionary posts... which can be really difficult to do! The posts that really make me feel like I'm making a difference are those that may not be the run-of-the-mill style blog posts, those aren't just images of pretty clothes or sales, but rather explore what style and our lifestyles are...

It happens daily, in little forms. A kitten stretched out and cooing in the sunshine. A text that reads "I love you."

Do you believe in magic? If you do, New Orleans will remind you why. If you don't, New Orleans will make you believe. Never have I been to a city that felt so surreal at any given time. It's filled with so much beauty and decay, pain, pride, and hope.
