I'm not exactly a designer, but personally, I'd go with a modern and/or minimalist theme. (At the top of my head, something like this: http://www.contemporist.com/2010/05/12/the-micheli-residence-by-simone-micheli/micheli_110510_09/) It's simple, clean and the room itself isn't exactly huge. :) The main thing, though, is that you get rid of all the unnecessary clutter...and install wall shelves, which I think would help you get more floor space. :) I hope that helped a teeny-weeny-bit and good luck! ;-) Submit a photo of your room after its renovation, yeah? =)
