wow that's a loaded question. Sandman would definitely be right up the list not only because of its brilliance but also it was the first graphic novel i picked up. It was like my first kiss--and you wouldn't forget that. I know this is going to sound cliche but Watchmen... one of those books that messed with my head for weeks! I also enjoyed V for Vendetta, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns (edged out the killing joke) and Preacher. Others would include The Dark Pheonix Saga, The walking dead (i've only read a few issues but its looking fab) and Local (you have to read it. on my table)
Those which I'm slightly embarrassed to admit to include Blankets and Black Hole. I've been wanting to buy Local 2 and check out more of Ryan Kelly's work...really starting to inspire me. -
