it wasn't the place that made me fell in love with Davao. It was the people. the city streets are the safest i have ever been on. the quality of the seafood is the top notch. if you're from Davao, why come to manila? they have what we have in manila, even better. but i must say i love marco polo davao. on top of their wonderful amenities, the service is the best i've ever seen. shangrila's too snobbish for it's own good. manila peninsula is so so. manila intercon has good service but the hotel is old and needs a fresh coat of paint. cebu hotels need to go to charm school. davao is the best place to be. not to mention, you have the cleanest drinking water (yes, from the tap!) in the country and you drink it for free. i've been to gensan. looks like fairview, hehehe. i will go to CDO next year. it's already in the pipeline. by the way, davao hotels offer free airport transfers which makes it even wonderful. hotels in manila charge and in most cities charge extra for transfers.

nice question! i plan to go there middle or late of next year with my in-laws. i want them to stop thinking that all of mindanao is ampatuan territory and it's all a war zone. i already educated them about the visayas. mindanao naman.
