Congratulations! My first child was due in April (2001), but she came in March! :) I hope your pregnancy is wonderful. Hmm, names are hard for me now that I never think about them anymore. I'll give you a few we thought about last time around. Boy: Lincoln, Matthew, Fielding, Harrison, James. But I also like Julian, Jude and Hudson (names my husband would never have gone for). Miles is probably my favorite boys' name, so I used it.
Girls' names are even harder for me. I loved Audrey (used it), but also: Charlotte, Emmaline, Caroline, Evangeline, Mara, Margot, Clementine, Genevieve (call her Evie)
Let me know if you like any of those! -
Oh, that's so nice of you to say. They are wonderful kids, and though I always planned for four, my pregnancy record and the three c-sections I've had have limited us to three. Basically, my body does not carry children well. It tries to reject them the entire time I am pregnant, and they have all been born early as a result. We have been blessed that they were healthy, but I worry about risking another pregnancy. We are very comfortable as a family of five and I have made peace with my decision. Sort of. Don't get me started! :)

That's such a hard question to answer! I grew up travelling a lot with my family. From those trips, my favorites are New Zealand, Maui and the British Isles. Places I really want to go again: Istanbul, Paris, Stockholm

Hello! I love to shop all over. Anthropologie (if I'm feeling like I have $$), Loft, Old Navy, Banana Republic, Nordstrom, Macy's, Gap . . .

Kirsten's blog, 6th Street Design School is great for ideas that can create a punch. I also love Jones Design Company. Both great blogs. Good luck!

I do plan to go to college again, not necessarily to pursue another degree, but to continue learning. I love just listening to people teach me things. I'll go wherever is close by, but I'd love to do an extension program at Oxford or Cambridge. They have great summer programs for anyone to take advantage of!

Thank you! Perhaps one day when I'm a grandma I'll make a job of it. Until then, my kids come first. I am blessed that my husband has a good, steady job. My job is to take care of him and the kids. One day, maybe I'll have more time for professional pursuits.

We got a real flocked tree! It's great because you don't have to water it or put it in a stand. Did not know that before this year.

My favorite dessert is a pie, the recipe for which I found in Cooking Light years ago. It's called Black Bottom Banana Cream pie, and the recipe is right here: http://fromourkitchentoyours.blogspot.com/2006/01/black-bottom-banana-cream-pie.html

Hello! My daughter (9) mostly wears clothes from Old Navy, Gap (jeans, because they have slims and special things like that), Boden, Zara, Garnet Hill, and the occasional item from Target. For accessories, we've found little necklaces she likes at places like Justice and Claire's, maybe a scarf or two from Target. She's not really too into the girly girly stuff, but she does like feathered headbands and simple pendants. Nordstrom has a great selection of things like watches, earrings and other tasteful accessories for girls as well. I have a lot of fun shopping for Audrey!

I love this area of Texas. I could go on and on, but here are my top reasons for loving it here:
1. close to a major airport (I live about 15 minutes from the gates at DFW)
2. mild winters, summers are do-able. After living in Houston for 7 years, I feel that I can handle almost any summer. But winter-wise I am still a wimp. So it's perfect here for me!
3. low cost of living, no income tax. bonus.
4. great shopping; I have everything I need within a 20 minute drive.
5. it's central to much of our family, we are kind of in the middle of it all.
6. close to my husband's roots, so my kids get a taste of where they come from. at least on his side.
7. great great great schools, low teacher-student ratio, gifted programs, parent involvement, etc.
8. lots of members of my church for my kids to grow up with, so they don't feel like the odd one out what with our conservative moral values and all.
oops, looks like i went on and on and on! -
My favorite dessert recipe is Black Bottom Banana Cream Pie, from Cooking Light years ago. I make it all the time, it is a family fave. Here's a link to it on my recipe blog. http://fromourkitchentoyours.blogspot.com/2006/01/black-bottom-banana-cream-pie.html
For dinner, my favorite is probably chicken piccata. I can make it without a recipe, it's fresh, healthy and inexpensive. -
I grew up in Villa Park, a small city surrounded by the City of Orange. Near Anaheim, Tustin, etc. It was an ideal place to be raised, I walked to all three of my schools and spent lots of time at Disneyland! My family doesn't live there anymore. My grandparents live in Orange and my bro in Mission Viejo. Everyone else has left CA!

I love so many books, and there are many on my to-read list that I've been told may be my favorites (thanks, mom!). Three of my all time favorites are The Age of Innocence, These is My Words, and To Kill a Mockingbird. :)
