If you're going in november, it's cold. You would need a parka. If you're trekking with a company, you will most likely be able to borrow a parka from them. Do check before you invest in one, they can cost quite a lot. When we went to nepal, i had longjohns, fleece and parka. But when you're walking... you'll quickly warm up. And when the sun is out especially, you sometimes could be walking with just your shirt on.

I did ask my brother in law this question. He says tiger airways will unlikely go under, Singapore airlines has too much invested in it. SIA is not doing too well at the moment, and he rather fly tiger and get the mileage and hours needed to move up the ranks. Relationship with the pilots are ok, it's SIA that is a bit shakey with its cadet pilot.

I was pretty much thrown in the deep end. I think you just need to remember the physics of tackling a downhill like leaning back, butt off seat etc then just take small slopes and gradually get more technical. no other way around it. Don't go too slow, but don't bomb down the hill with no regard for your safety too.
