It said "Here are two free passes." My friend David and I text each other parts of Simpsons quotes, and sometimes the other one finishes it. The quote this time was: "Here are two free passes." "But there are five of us." "Here are TWO free passes!" "That's better!" Yeah, we're dorks.

Myself, I guess. My first real memory of writing was first grade (or maybe second; I had the same classroom and teacher two years in a row). It was pretty soon after I had learned to read basic Dick & Janes and write sentences, and I was sitting in class writing and illustrating a story of my own for the first time. I just loved it; storytelling, the tactical experience of writing, and illustrating it (I still love drawing, too). It sounds totally cliche but I remember sitting there and knowing that I wanted to keep doing it.

German, mostly. My last name's German, but I was born and raised in Canada, and both of my parents and my grandparents are Canadian. People actually get surprised when I tell them that--for some reason they think I'm all kinds of European, French, Russian. Actually, the one I get by far the most is, "You look Lebanese" (which I can only take as a compliment).

Spring. Rebirth and all that jazz. I'm all about the in-between seasons. Fall is a close second--it's the best season for the fashion-conscious. All layers, all the time.

I get this a lot. But no. All realzies, baby. I don't have the patience for anything else. No curlers, either.

Vanilla, all the way. Unless we're talking cake. Chocolate cake. Vanilla icing. There's simply no other way.

Dead or alive? Michael Jackson. And my boyfriend, Matthieu. I'm very particular.

Some sort of very environmentally-friendly electric genie that's also cost-effective. May not exist in my lifetime. Thankfully, I'm perfectly happy to walk and take the bus (whilst ogling every classic and sports car that passes).

My first paying job was working for Suspenders General Store in Fort St. James, B.C. (cashier, stockist, cleaner, pump jockey, amateur chef, frozen yogurt maker). I also sold liquor and cigarettes, and yes I was underage.

"No one can make you do anything you don't want to do." (Brittany Miller, a friend, Grade 7)

Numerous. The most prominent scars are on my knees, because I'm clumsy--one from when I was 7 on my left knee, and scars upon scars upon scars on my right knee, which is the one I've been landing on since high school.
