Uranus was originally called George, in honor of King George III of Britain. The name was very unpopular outside Britain. [39]
I'm an astronaut, and my next mission is to explore Uranus.

Kenan and Kel both auditioned for Saturday Night Live. Kenan made it, Kel did not. [27]

There are three things the human brain cannot resist noticing. They are food, attractive people and danger.
Don't know the source. Just a few thoughts.
1. Food: tasty food (sweet/spicy, deliciously served, colors/forms: pleasing to the eye, appetizing smell: maybe evolutionary background: sweet = promise of lots of calories, source of danger: yummy looking toxic berries, etc.) and revolting food (bitter taste, wilted/rotten looking, fading/greenish colors, putrescent smell: protective function = often harmful/toxic)
2. People: not only 'attractive' people (subjective to a certain degree, some cultural bias may be involved, e.g. skinny or corpulent, small or tall, colors, etc.) but also 'ugly' people (folks who differ from the norm, asymmetric facial features/too skinny, too fat, cultural bias, media insinuation, indoctrination of certain beauty standards, etc.)
3. Danger: the impending 'real' dangers (like fire, attack, etc.) + the imaginary/drummed into you dangers as well (indoctrination, brainwashing, propaganda, rumor, slander, etc) + learned by experience dangers (e.g. 'All men are potential rapists.', 'All dogs are potential biters.' You don't know in advance, hence be on guard + have a self-defense plan in store) -
The CIA once spent $20 million on a cat equipped with gear to spy on the Soviets, but it was hit by a taxi. [94]

The world's most expensive burger is sold at a Burger King in West London. It's called "The Burger" and costs $186 (£95). The Burger can be pre-ordered by phone so you don't need to wait in line. [66]
Ok, I did some research.
"The pricey burger is for charity, and it's only available in one Burger King in West London once a week. Here's what it's made up of:
The fine ingredients of what is called simply 'The Burger' include Wagyu beef, white truffles, Pata Negra ham slices, Cristal onion straws, Modena balsamic vinegar, lambs lettuce, pink Himalayan rock salt, organic white wine and shallot infused mayonnaise in an Iranian saffron and white truffle dusted bun." -
Statistics show, Australian women are most likely to have sex on the first date.

Guys are more likely to fall in love based on a girl’s appearance, while girls are more likely to be drawn towards a guy’s behavior.
Guys like what they see and girls like what they hear. thats why girls wear makeup and boys lie.

Beware on Wednesday January 18, Wikipedia will shut down world wide to protest an American anti-piracy bill called SOPA and PIPA.
I know a bit of the Stop Online Piracy Act.
SOPA was indeed for, attempting to stop piracy.
"Oh! That must be a good thing then!"
Well, there IS a catch. Everything you use without a creative commons license is illegal, and when I mean "everything", I. Mean. EVERYTHING. You can literally get YOURSELF arrested for not registering a CC license.

Help yourselves to this site. It will give you a summary of what SOPA is, and what would happen if it is enforced.

Former U.S. President Franklin Pierce was arrested during his term as President for running over an old lady with his horse, but the charges were later dropped. [first sent by amusingfacts, August 2010]
At least the old lady always had a good story to tell. "Remember that time I got run over by President Pierce's horse?"
McDonald's Big Mac slogan, introduced in 1975, is: Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, and a sesame seed bun. [2]
Are you sure that isn't a Krabby Patty...?

People do not get sick from cold weather. They get sick from being indoors a lot more.
Yes, that is true. However, that fact is missing key information. When you spend a lot of time indoors in the colder seasons, your body gets used to the tempurature of the indoors. When you return outside, the sudden decrease in tempurature surprises your body and now has to adjust to the new climate. During the adjustment period, your body is the most vulnerable to bacteria.
Another way to take this fact is that the more time you spend indoors, the more bacteria builds up. Because you live in the environment where bacteria is building, you cross paths with bacteria at an extraordinary rate, far more often than if you spent more time outside, even when it's cold. Also, a 70 degrees fahrenheit household is a great place for bacteria to multiply. A 15 degrees fahrenheit environment, however, discourages the spread of bacteria. However, the outdoors is more public. So regardless of how you look at the situation, there's ups and downs both ways.SpongeBob’s name was originally supposed to be SpongeBoy but bizarrely, the name was already taken for a mop. The creator also wanted to keep "sponge" in his name fearing that kids would mistaken him for a chunk of cheese.
