okay side note with no relation to anything else and just saying, in my opinion, everyone s work reminds everyone of everyone else s. esp. when you are actually influenced by the same artist or lead a certain same kind of lifestyle sort of. my work, reminds me of alot of other artists. haha. everything right now is about, sharing stories and that "originality" as a pure concept is dead.
after i graduated from school, i just carried on making photographs and then got paid to do stuff and all and it went on and on and on..
my major is painting, i only did photog elective for 1 sem because i wanted to try other mediums like printmaking, sculpture etc. i mean, for me, school was play and to experiment all mediums. i just never stopped making photographs throughout school haha. and finally presented my work in photographs for final assesment during my diploma year after my lecs said i should just concentrate on what i am strongest in. so there! -

i would like to say that my agent found me. but i found him in a way as well. when i was in school, i was quite amazed by his work and thought ive never seen anyone in singapore whom creates work like him. i thought, wow i would really like to assist this artist. turned out that he was my senior s elder sister s friend and i assisted him only a few times when i was still in school and then when i graduated, he contacted me and said he wanted to see me shoot more and to also show him what ive made. and i did. i think hes been watching me through school , in a way, my process and really liked my work. soon enough, he became my rep, my agent-ish. if you would like an agent, look for production houses. not just an "agent", agent. email them and say you would like to get represented. agents or reps that is, are people whom run a production house, have all the resources to produce a shoot - from small to big. they handle your well being in a shoot, they are kind of like your support people and they do the admin work between the client and you/them, they pitch jobs for you.. well shit like that. my experience is that i love my rep and i have alot of respect for him as an artist, as a person and as my rep. hes really quite like my mentor in way. i think its quite necessary to get represented especially if your young and all.. youll need someone older with more experiences to handle the W X Y and Z for you. -

everything that you see in my work is what i am currently experiencing in my life right now. i am constantly questioning the meaning of my life in my youth. i am not sure when will my youth be over. all i know now is that i am making memories and stories of how i think i want my youth to be like. i guess when i am much older i will reflect and probably have the answers to this. so no, its never just for the sake of just making photographs.

concentrating on fixing my adhd and my sleep. if you look at the picture, its going to be awesome because that would mean fixing myself to become a better person in all areas in my life.

1) yes i do. honestly it really depends on the kind of mood i am after and all. just questions on light, safety (since we always travel out of sing), time, toilet etc.
2) it depends really. its all different when directing friends/strangers/talents/models/older people/younger people in different jobs/shoots/environment/situations etc. i do it all differently really. i cant direct an older talent in a job the same way as i direct my friends when we are like all having fun. usually its to try and help put my energy across to them or atleast try and bring out a certain energy in them. it depends on the shoot/job/situation really. directing is so fucking important in any given situation.
3) like making a living? urm about 1 half perhaps? :) -
