Well, I dunno. I guess that's fine. It still doesn't make me feel good to hear it. I think there is a general unspoken love that (I assume) the majority of people have for the rest of humanity. I have it and assume others have it as well. I was raised to not expect praise and to feel uncomfortable when singled out for it, so I don't know what to say when someone directs a general love at me that I feel should be shared with everyone.
But on the other hand saying "I don't want your compliments because they are making me feel bad" sounds like the douchiest tumblr thing ever so whatever, I guess, love away. -
I wish. I have 15 pages to ink before Monday on another project. After some calculations it looks like I barely have enough time for basic biological functions if I want to finish on time! Sorry.

I have no problem as long as they aren't being serious.

I have a lot of recurring dreams, possibly tied to my good dream memory. I have several notebooks filled with dreams from over a decade. I don't anymore, but the upside is I remember dreams easily and have tricks to recall them if I don't. I wonder if everyone has a lot of recurring dreams, but they don't remember when they wake up?

The appropriate thing would be to tell them to go to a counselor. As a teacher, your job is to teach. It's tempting to become a mentor to every student but realistically that is how a lot of teachers burn out. The rare teachers who are able to do that kind of thing invariably do not do anything else, and are rare and incredible people.
Legally also keep in mind that any kind of harm that is coming to a student really should be told to someone whose job it is to handle that kind of issue with a minor. -
Only if Bryke is doing it ;____;

Depends on what you're doing. Here is a manga by Shintaro Kago (it is NOT safe for work) that utilizes extreme paneling to tell a story: http://pics.livejournal.com/kc_anathema/gallery/0007whbh
Pretty crazy! I would not describe that comic as being unprofessional, but obviously he knows how to break the rules. It always depends on what you are trying to achieve.
If you're trying to tell a specific type of story, like a superhero story, then the easy answer is go to your local comic store and just count panels. Find out how many are on a page generally and stick to that. If you're doing a romance manga maybe you'll only have 3 or 4 per page or something, I dunno. I've seen some french comics that have 9 or 10 and they look just fine, but again their pages tend to be scaled appropriately as well. It's up to what is appropriate and what conveys the information best for your type of story. -
Usually when I finish a really good book (or a really bad one)

I caught one episode in late 2005, I'd just come home for break/ had finished my last final for the semester. Nobody was home and I was cooking dinner in the kitchen, so to make some noise I turned the TV on (to cartoons, I think CN was showing Naruto or some shit I don't watch). The last episode of of book 1 was airing RIGHT WHEN I TURNED IT ON which means Zhao and fish monster badassery everywhere. After I got back to school I remembered the show and mentioned it on my LJ, and my friend Aaysha sent me the first season burned to a CD through the mail (so hardcore ;__;), so that is how I got into it. We didn't/ still don't have Tivo or any of that shit at my house, and I don't like illegally downloading things, so I actually have most of Season 2 taped onto VHS since I was at college and couldn't watch it for weeks at a time. I had graduated by the time Season 3 was out so I watched that on the television as well (and I plan to do so for Korra just to stay with the tradition).

If you're doing it with respect, then everyone else can go fuck themselves. Please don't point out the inherent nonsense of the previous sentence.

Depends on the situation! If it's a gamer comic, then yeah go for it. If it's the graphic novel version of the sacking of Troy, maybe not.
