First, before I say anything, Define "a true Christian" & "fall away from God"
-
How do you define "content/happy"?
i.e. how would you know if your situation was opposite to what you think/feel now? -
None that would be appropriate to play at a Chinese Church potluck
;P
I grew up on Billy Joel, Queen, Elton John, Kiss, ACDC, INXS, Cold Chisel, Jimmy Barnes, Hoodu Guru's, The Proclaimers, Survivor, Crowed House, Tim & Neil Finn, Credence Clearwater Revival, Lee Kearnaghan,
I.e. I'm an Australian! That grew up in the 70's & 80's. -
Where to live?
What to eat?
How to pay for all of the above? -
That would presuppose the precedence or superiority of matter (as well as time and space!).
Which came first, the intangible (spirit) or tangible (matter)?
Genesis 1:1 - In the beginning God...
John 1:1-4 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men.
John 4:24 - God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.
Ephesians 1:3-5 - Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will...
I John 4:10 - This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
All that to say, simply put, that your presuppositions bias your definition of love.
The world view of the Bible is that "love" - true love as defined by God - existed long before "chemical processes in the brain". -
Define "a materialist View towards existence"
-
The Bible has complete agreement with true science & vice versa.
-
Yes. You are placing an impossible expectation on others and yourself.
-
Not "what", Who!
The Holy Spirit is God. -
Lutheranism is both a Christian denomination and a form of Church governance distinct from other major protestant types of organisation and governance, such as episcopalian, presbyterian and congregational.
Calvinism is a doctrinal distinctive amongst Christians of no particular denominational association. The doctrines pertain to matters relating to God's sovereignty in salvation, the state and condition of man before and after salvation and the nature of effectiveness of the extent and work of salvation amongst men.
A Lutheran can be calvinistic in doctrine (sometimes, not always!) but Calvinists are found amongst all types of Christian Church denominations, episcopalian, presbyterian and congregational.
And to preempt the next question: Examples
Anglicans are episcopalians.
Presbyterians and Reformed Churches are presbyterian - no kidding! ;)
Baptists are congregational, but can also be presbyterian in governance. -
Why not go and see a Psychologist who is a Christian?
-
Seems like you probably already know.
"Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord," Acts 3:19 -
Not one of my favourites.
-
Romans 12:3
For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you. -
To God be the glory!

Non-Fiction: Jesus!
Fiction: The Phantom, aka The Ghost Who Walks, aka Kit Walker... -
Are you a Christian?
How do you know whether you're a Christian or not?
Why do you want to get baptised?
When you can answer those three questions we can talk about timing ;) -
Psalm 40:2 is a great "rock" song.
He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.
