I would categorize by cuisine first, and then make subcategories within those by app, soups, main course, desserts/sweets, drinks etc... and I would mark the top corners with color-coordinated dots indicating if its a quick-meal, avg cooking time, or slow cooked. And an indicator to tell me if it should be prepped ahead of time or not, and by how much time and which ingredients are plentiful in which season. and use $ marks next to that to indicate the cost of ingredients (eg. $:cheap, $$: avg cost, $$$: expensive ... something like that). and some sort of marking to indicate the level of spiciness because I LOVE SPICY FOOD, but some people can't stand spicy food.
and I would have a separate category for 'comfort food' because you can't go wrong with comfort food. lol and a another category for vegetarian/vegan dishes and vegetarian/ vegan desserts because I aim to please people.
I would organize it that way so that I could ask anyone or myself whats being craved- so cuisine. then, which courses am i gonna make- eg app, main dish, dessert. how much will this cost me? and how much time will be put into making it.
On the back, I would probably put suggestions how to plate, whether its picnic-friendly or not, and suggestions of which dishes and/or drinks go well with each other, How many I could feed with this particular recipe. and if its microwave-friendly for leftovers. And any possible substitutions, if i'm cookin for people with any food-allergies or vegetarians/vegans. And ideally, there would always be a picture so I could use it as reference. -

Mmm...i need variety. I like to cook new things, i need to use my creativity. but i do like to cook mostly in the italian, french, and moroccan cuisines.
