      Do you keep a journal, diary, or sketchbook to record your thoughts?

      I have all kinds of notebooks lying around and I scribble stuff in them all the time, but I'm not an organized diarist.

      What book are you reading at the moment?

      Rereading Narnia (out loud with kids); China Mieville's Kraken; a history of Berlin; and a book called The Falling Sky, about meteors.

      Repeated watchings of Fantasia when I was a kid convinced me that it would be awesome to be a mosasaur and sntach pterodactyls out of the sky.

      It was not, but I'm an amateur Egypt nerd with a special fondness for Akhenaten, so it sure was a fun book to work on.

      What's the oddest/most confusing comment you've received about your work?

      An Amazon reviewer of Batman: Inferno was very angry to discover that it was a book. Really. Go read the review if you don't believe me.

      In "Exodus: The History of the War for Cybertron" (which I enjoyed!), Ratbat is a Minicon member of the High Council. He can talk! Does this mean Soundwave's Minicon deployers Ravage, Rumble, and Laserbeak can talk? Can all Minicons talk?

      Ratbat's the only Minicon who talks in this book...but who knows? Maybe we'll find out definitively in the next book.

      What was the best writing (or writing career) advice you ever got? (Bonus Question: Is what I just proper grammar...? 'cause it ain't right tuh mah brain ears!)

      I don't remember who it was, but whoever told me that there's no such thing as writer's block was exactly right, and I'm glad I heard that when I did. And yes.
