What? I'm selling DC comics. Then I'll sell the used manga that gets traded in. Nothing goes to waste, everything gets promoted. It's a win/win that uses the troupes of propaganda and a joke to get noticed.
-
Easy, ANIMAL MAN! I also love Swamp Thing, Justice League, Batman, Action, Aquaman, and Wonder Woman.
-
No one's ever invited me there, and the Simpson's warned against vacationing to South America, right?
-
You mean like the Green Lantern Corps?
-
We make them ourselves. At some point we should put that stuff online for other shops to use.
-
I have to go to the Eisners because I'm up for the Spirit of Retailing award. I'll probably be on panels next year, as I'll be a big shot then. ;)

We get custom posters made from zazzle.com of events we are promoting. The most important thing to have in the windows now are Scott Pilgrim stuff, make some of the paper dolls! There are a lot of cool Scott Pilgrim things to download and print out on the various oni/sp/sp movie dot coms.

I don't really remember him as a humble architect. I remember him as a bit of a generic angry black man. Then as an overconfident egotist, who in Cosmic Odessy was responsible for the destruction of a whole planet. I guess Marz wrote him as level headed and paying penance for that huge error in judgement. I thought Johns was brilliant when he simply said Stewart was a Marine and used the GI bill to pay for architect school, in one sentence he reconciled the cartoon and comic versions.
Now Tony Bedard will hopefully balance both the building and destroying aspects of Stewart's character, making him complex, multi-layered, and real! -
Digital is gonna expose more people to comics, I'm gonna go balls to the wall to get some of those people to come here and check out the collections of print comics. Newspapers and magazines are information, comics are entertainment. Two different things. People don't care how they consume entertainment. They want it fast, but format doesn't matter much. People identify with their entertainment, its part of who they are. Some people who start identifying with comics digitally will like the format of graphic novels and my shop will grow.

No, I think shops will have to evolve. I actually like that the direct market comic shops have to get their shit together and do more than just rack and ring up. They haven't as a whole grown the market of comic readers, I'm fine with every sub par shop going under. The shops that sell the experience of comics and their shop as a brand will do fine. So many more people will be exposed to comics digitally and some of those people will get caught by progressive shops like mine. I'm gonna do better with digital.

I don't know. I didn't really read it. i know that's the Kandor from Superman: Godfall. I know none of that kandor looks like the New Krypton one. I don't remember Supergirl's parents in the one year later kandor...
I'd say the one year later kandor is kandor from another one of the 52.
I think Sterling Gates is doing a great job on Supergirl now, and I can't wait for next week's JMS Superman 700! -
I love Daniel Way's run. I liked the pirate story, the joining the X-men one, etc. I think he has a great mix of action and funny.
-
I don't hate gypsies, I just love my businessmen (who they steal from). Its heritage not hate.
-
I've asked marvel marketing face to face, in their office, in new york, last year and the year before to put this back out.
I'd say at this point, no they are not.
I got a copy if you want one... -
Do people with dogs consider them a part of their family or are they just useful?
-
Haven't read it yet. It just came out yesterday. I worked 8am to 10pm yesterday. Did you like Buzzard?

We have never in the history of the shop ever been hiring. As a need comes up we fill it from people we know. anyone can turn in a resume at any time, register interest, or just let us know if we ever need someone they have skills. So A comic shop is covered, its hard to foresee at this precipice what needs our Geek Easy Bar will have.
