It's not so secret, but I'm a scare of really deep water... really anything deep enough for me to reasonably drown.

      Well yeah...
I'm not a germophobe by any means, but I do take care to properly sanitize things.

Only in the most extreme of cases. Too often, kids with mild ADD/ADHD are thrown Ritalin or some equivalent because the parent doesn't want to deal with a little hyperactivity.

A drug as strong as Ritalin will have some nasty effects when taken long-term by a child. Possibly to the point of altering their physiology. So like I said, in extreme cases, sure. But not for anything mild.

Analyzing the habits and reactions of infants in various settings has been very helpful in distinguishing the source of various social disorders amongst many other things. So it's not entirely inappropriate, I think.

Second-hand smoke does have some mild harmful effects, especially if someone already has some sort of respiratory problem. So it'd be good to err on the side of caution IMO. At the very least, if you HAVE to smoke, roll down the window so that the smoke doesn't stay in the car.

Only if they're proven safe and effective. The biggest issue I had with the H1N1 vaccine is that it was rushed onto the market.

If it's safe and well tested though, I don't see why not. Inoculation is the best form of disease prevention.

I'm not familiar with any concerns around Tamiflu. I don't always keep up with the news. >.>

I'd say the truth is always better. It may hurt at the time, it may not be what you want to hear, but it's better than being hurt by a lie. A lie can do much more damage, and they're almost always found out.
Point being, I'd always rather have the truth than a lie.

Almost certainly Feudal Japan. Possibly around the Meiji era (certainly post-Meiji Restoration.. too much violence/war/etc). However, I'd also be sorely tempted to go to Ancient China around the time they started developing the Shaolin arts.
However, certain eras in European history would also be fascinating. The Renaissance in particular comes to mind.
But, I think my first choice would be me sitting there debating between China and Japan.

I don't think it's really even possible for me to conceive of this. Since I wasn't raised a Christian, it's not something that I've felt a responsibility to (in the sense that I'd be letting down someone if I decided to leave it). It's something I chose myself because I agree with it's principles, and it... (cliche-warning) it speaks to me.
However, to entertain the notion, I've always been interested in a lot of the Far East religions. Everything from Buddhism, Hinduism, Shintoism, Confucianism, and Taoism all have very interesting observations about life. My interest in those likely reflects my interest in martial arts though, as many of those religions (in particular Taoism) are intertwined with martial practices. Also, as philosophical studies, they can be quite fascinating.
As for following one specific one... it'd likely be Taoism. The wisdom of it would likely attract me, but it still maintains a level of spirituality that (I believe) is absent from Confucianism.
So I guess this wasn't something completely inconceivable after all. Who knew?

      Hmm...
Probably need to make High School harder. In most parts of the country, it's insanely easy to graduate from High School. So long as you do the work (irony much?) you're pretty much guaranteed a diploma. It doesn't matter what the quality of the work is though.
Now, there's an obvious reason that High School is so easy. Businesses no longer view a HS Diploma as that big of a deal. They don't really think that much of a bachelor's degree either anymore. If you want to make any serious amount of money, you need at least a master's. So High Schools need to be passable so that kids can get to college in order to have a successful career/life.
So there'd need to be large changes in the very fabric of our society for it to really work.

And better frickin' lunch food. For God's sake that stuff is awful.

The number of complete and total idiots that don't even realize their own stupidity. Or worse, those idiots that actually think they're sheer genius.

Honestly, I don't keep up with politics much. I try to keep in touch with the major happenings, but I just can't get into it like some people can. My concerns with the world are really just the same as anyone else's: namely, how the things happening will affect ME.

So while I don't go out of my way to keep up with politics/current events, I try to at least keep up to date with major going-ons.

      Hmm...
Well, I always make a very conscious effort to be as honest as possible. Not just by not lying, but also in being honest to/with myself. I never try to "play myself up" when talking with people. Conversely I don't make bigger deals out of things than they are. Same with dealing with people, I'm brutally honest, but when I'm kind, it's just as genuine and sincere.
Other than that, I've got tons o' problems, yo...
