Obsessive work ethic! I generally get the least exciting projects out of the way first. For me, procrastination is a dirty word and the [probably disproportionate] level of displeasure I feel when I let stuff slip through the cracks keeps me from indulging in it to any significant degree. Still, time management continues to me a beast I wrestle with regularly, due to the sheer volume of projects and gigs I take on. On to the tips:
- Schedules and lists are my salvation – I can't recommend them enough
- Reward yourself for accomplishing the tedious tasks
- Take 5-minute breaks every 20 minutes to keep your brain from entering drone mode
- Get the stuff you want to do the least out of the way, or break up your tasks and alternate between the exciting and the not-so-exciting.
Good luck! -
I rescued her from a shelter and consequently have no concrete idea of her lineage, but we suspect she's a mix of Chihuahua and Rat-terrier, with a hint of Dachshund. She's 5ish.

Definitely. Both my bisexuality and my inclinations toward a darker aesthetic were treated as phases by my mother.
I have always been attracted to people rather than genders and am routinely happy to word-punch anyone who claims sexual orientation is a choice. I love my mom and she's generally an open-minded person, but she met my early attempts at conversations about my attraction to women with an "it will pass" attitude.
It has not. This dismissal wasn't especially damaging, but it was certainly annoying.
The same goes for my aesthetic. Though, thankfully, my tastes have become more varied and discerning over the years, I still wear predominantly black and continue to love the strange, the theatrical, and the macabre - among other things.
Fortunately, my mom seems to have accepted both of these aspects and, though she's always been a very stylish lady, I dare say some of my fashion leanings have rubbed off on her. -
Very happy to hear I was able to help!

Probably. But if that person is prepared to shave their head if need be, I say go for it, you only live once! Just remember that white is not achieved through bleaching alone, you also need to use toner to neutralize yellow.

I know now, but I don't know who you are! Thank you for taking the time to let me know, anyhow.

This is way too broad of a question, sorry. If you have someone specific in mind, you're welcome to ask.

Absolutely! Though I don't see myself learning to animate in the near future, I would love to collaborate with animators at some point. Character design is one of those things I've only casually dabbled in, but could see myself having a lot of fun with it in the right environment, specifically a tub filled with black caviar wherein I luxuriate in the nude, swill champagne, and bark orders at tub-bolstering animators.

Russian + Jewish + Uighur + possibly a wee bit Mongolian.

I am not a nutritionist, so I don't feel qualified to recommend, per se, but I can tell you what my usual breakfast foods are:
- Yogurt or cottage cheese with honey, topped with berries or nuts
- Banana-berry-almond-milk shakes and avocado shakes
- Eggs, especially poached or soft-boiled
Some things I eat infrequently:
- Orange-mango juice, a few times per year
- French toast, if I'm out, since I never keep bread at home
- Crepes, if Ales makes them
- Bacon!
I tend to stay away from cereals, though I do occasionally like steel-cut oatmeal.
Obviously, if you have special dietary needs this may not be for you, but I hope it helps! The main idea behind my everyday eating habits is keeping sugar and starch low and protein high. -
Hope? Absolutely!
For instance, Van Gogh began his work around 28, Wassily Kandinsky was 30, Henry Rousseau didn't start painting until his forties, etc.
Remember, artistic skill is just that - skill. The sooner you start learning and developing that skill, the better, of course, but coupled with determination, it's a craft that can be learned like any other. Also, check out this wonderful talk by John Cleese I posted yesterday for some invaluable suggestions on how to get inspired. http://zoetica.tumblr.com/post/21541257983/john-cleese-on-creativity-church-yo -
You're welcome! Happy to hear it's working for you.

This has been happening ever since I was a kid and I've dealt with it in different ways throughout my life, starting with giggling, moving on to indiscriminate insults, and now addressing it on a case-by-case basis. If it's someone making noise from a passing vehicle I always ignore it, if someone compliments me in the street or out at an event I say thanks unless I'm given reason to feel uncomfortable or threatened. If someone suggests I look like The Girl With a Dragon Tattoo or Lady Gaga, chances are it will be refuted with a less-than-friendly reply.
Fact is, attention is what humans give to each other and it's not always negative, as my angst-ridden teenage self once thought. Sometimes a compliment is just a compliment and others it's an unwelcome violation http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaze#The_.22Male_Gaze.22_in_Feminist_Theory -
I think [though I can't be certain] that the first time I went blue was in 1998, as evidenced in this photo, taken a short while prior to Marilyn Manson's book signing at now-deceased Tower Records on Sunset Blvd.. Har har. http://www.flickr.com/photos/zoetica/1505293402/

I'm not aware of any such plans, but am open to magazine illustration in general, as time allows.

All the time, but not enough to laser it!

I'd have to see the photo - I'm not actually sure I ever did bright purple.
