Of course they do. This isn't the early 1990's!

You're speaking in the past tense. Am I dead? [uhoh]

It depends how interested I am in the story/concept etc. The problem with watching the film first is that when you read the book, you tend to imagine the actors as the characters, even if the book describes them completely different. :-/

I try and stay open minded about it really. Part of me wishes that Hollywood would be a bit more original, but there are also some more forgotten films with a good concept that could benefit being redone for a new audience. So a bit of both really.
-
Er...could be. I can't think of any off the top of my head right now. Some films, I've only either seen the original or remake, not both.
-
There's a couple. I like that Somewhere Over The Rainbow/What a wonderful world one, but I forget who does that. Most covers (especially now) just seem to rob the original song of any meaning that it once had and just turn them in to another generic, middle of the road song. I heard a version of Supergrass 'Alright' the other day which did just that, it was horrible. I think that covers need to do something new with the song, be more ambitious. Don't dilute it.

Take one. I look like someone else in pictures. I'm far more handsome in person.
