Yeah, we moved there when I was in sixth grade. Before that, we lived in Houston, Texas - so it was a HUGE cultural difference for me. The island is a wonderful place but when I was younger I hated it. There was only a 1-screen movie theater for a long time and that was the only kid-friendly entertainment available (assuming the movie playing wasn't R-rated). Since then they've gotten a 5-screener (gasp!). Now that I'm an adult, I love going there. Something about being on an island is just so relaxing - all it takes is being surrounded by water to put everything into perspective.
