Yes, you can gradually form a more trusting relationship with your deepest yourself by establishing a regular (daily) meditation practice. This teaches you to stay grounded and open amidst the flux of strong emotions, especially during your moon time. When you can distinguish between the two (the part that witnesses your emotions and the part that feels them) then you can choose to rest in & listen to the wisdom in the center of yourself. And, I'll emphasize it again, it takes steady practice!

Not that I know of...we only have 1 queen's kit left and after that will discontinue the queen's version and only have the digital download version for sale. If I'm feeling feisty I might have a birthday/Thanksgiving sale of some kind in late November. xoxo

If you have extreme anxiety, I recommend working with a good psychotherapist to help work through it at the root level. Deep breathing always helps (when anxious we almost stop breathing). Developing a meditation practice is crucial as well. For herbs, they are only short term fixes. There are many different blends available at whole foods for instance (go to talk to someone there about what they recommend), but kava is very good in general. At night, GABA before bed is good, too. Also watch out for sugar, caffeine, and sparse sleep because these will all increase anxiety. Sending you many blessings. xoxo

One of the best ways to do this is through meditation. Sit together with eyes closed, facing one another. Each of you focus on your own breath and bodily sensations for about 3 to 5 minutes. Then open your eyes and look into one another's eyes. Breath together. Feel one another. Keep gazing softly without speaking for about 5 minutes. Other ideas: dancing together, massage one another, cuddle, stroke one another with a feather to beautiful music, create a nice meal for your partner, plan a 1/2 day or whole day just for them with everything they love, write love notes, read poetry to him/her..... have a beautiful, intimate time. xoxo

I think it's all about the context. I find those toesox ads to be very tasteful, artistic and inspiring--not degrading to women at all. Kathryn Budig (the model) is a wonderfully healthy female role model, both in terms of her body, her dedication to the yogic path, and the voice and presence she brings to the world.

Gap and Prana both make jeans that are stretchy. In fact, I'm wearing my prana jeans right now. They have a lot of give without being baggy. I feel very comfortable in these and like I have room to breathe and let my belly be as big as it needs to be. Give them a try!

I'm so happy to hear this! I talk about this a lot in my upcoming book. The main things I use are mindfulness and gratitude (the two most important ways of saying thank you and bringing sacredness, I think) and then I improvise the kind of blessing I say before I eat depending upon what's true in that moment . Also, Thich Nhat Hanh, a Vietnamese Zen teacher has a great food blessing: http://viewpacific.wordpress.com/2008/10/06/a-mealtime-blessing-from-thich-nhat-hanh/

Well, there's nothing like a yoga teacher training to help you become more flexible (you're usually practicing twice a day) and to learn the names of poses (you'll probably be quizzed on them during the course). So don't worry about that.

If you want to prepare, start practicing every day either at home or going to a class (or both). Pick up a copy of B.K.S. Iyengar's book "Light on Yoga" to start getting more familiar with the names of poses. It takes some time. Whenever you do a pose yourself, silently say to yourself it's name--in English and in Sanskrit.

But remember, yoga's SO much more than flexibility and posture names. It's about being present and open-hearted with yourself and your world. So be gentle and enjoy the process! Good luck and have fun. xoxo

I consider myself an expert in this area ;). When traveling overseas I take homeopathic jet lag tablets, bring my own tea thermos and tea bag to fill up on the plane, as well as lots of snacks (bars, apples, almonds) and my own food (usually brown rice/quinoa and steamed veggies). And drink as much water as you can. For yoga in hotel rooms, you can do yin yoga on/in your bed. I often move furniture around or if it's really really small go out and practice by the pool, on a roof, or in the fitness center. Where there's a will, there's a way!

yin yoga, yin yoga, yin yoga--especially yin yoga practices for the kidney meridians (like in my women's yoga kit and also in sarah power's book insight yoga). yoga nidra and plain old savasana and sleep do wonders as well. i'm writing much more about this in my upcoming book. good luck...

I'm always working on this, but I just see it as a form of extreme self care. It's valuing what I know I need over needing to please people. The more I do it, the more I live in integrity with myself and people actually respect you more for it in the long run. It's modeling appropriate self nurturing.

i'd take 20-30 minutes out and do yoga nidra (you can buy a recording online, search amazon). this helps a lot! also try some caffeine that's easier on ur body like mate or green tea. and then there's some days when you just have to go for the latte. i have those days once in a while, but best not to make it a habit b/c it wears our your adrenals...

Hmm, I'm not sure about this. I would need to know more about you and your health to give a more concise answer. But I would recommend keeping your head slightly above your heart. You can elevate it by propping your head up with your hands or with a block. Let me know if that helps!

If you have a couple of years of practice under your belt and a passion for it, then I think you're ready. Even if you don't want to start teaching right away, yoga teacher trainings are such a transformational experience and catapult your practice (and your life) to a whole new level. I say go for it! Maybe you can join me in Thailand for my next teacher training ;)
