I only know "no" "ba" "ke" and "ka" in there... I really need to study more if I wanna go back to Japan. :(
I like Japanese gameshows a LOT (batsu games, oh my god) and sumo is my favorite sport. I would watch Japanese TV all the time if I could get access to it.
Japanese kid shows are predictably awesome/insane to watch, and I was fascinated by one show that was science-based. I believe it showed you how to make your own microscope out of a bottlecap and water or something amazing? I don't know, but it was so cool.
I also found the format of Japanese news shows to very refreshing, because they're so factual and passionless. It's not over-produced and full of special effects like American news is. It's very plain and not distracting, crazy, and action-packed NEWS MADNESS!
On the anime-front: I don't enjoy anime as much as sumo and gameshows. I like a few animes that are probably considered "old" now, my favorite being Paranoia Agent. I've been meaning to watch Yakitate Japan because I saw the first three episodes forever ago and it seemed pretty self-aware and funny.
I was a big fan of Kinnikuman when I was younger (it was called "Ultimate Muscle: The Kinnikuman Legacy" in America). I wish I could find all the original Japanese episodes anywhere :( Or even the dubbed ones, I don't really care. It was a funny show though. I can only find bits and pieces of it, and the dvds are a LOT of money. I got some Kinnikuman blindbox toys while I was in Japan, but I only got RobinMask and RamenMan from them, so it was kind of a let-down, lol. I wanted Kid Muscle...
Do you know of any Japanese TV live streams or anything? All this talk has made me miss it :( -
Guesting certainly doesn't take as long as making an LP of your own, so I guess I might have the time. Depends on the LP and the LPer. Example: I wouldn't want to guest on an LP of a fighting or racing game because I could not force myself to give any sort of shit about those genres.
Also, there is a SHITLOAD of construction happening on my street lately and that definitely limits the hours in which I could record audio haha. -
He's pretty much Space Hitler in the beginning, but they make him a little less 2-dimensional later on in the series... you start thinking maybe there's more to him just a little. But he's still a bad person overall, and you can't quite tell if he's actually guilty about the horrible things he's done, if he's just kidding/manipulating, or if he's nuts. Then he actually DOES go legit kookoo-bananas and partakes in some very squicky boning of certain people that should never be boned with, ever. Dude made a ton of questionable life/boning choices. I'd go nuts too, probably.

Fictional bros: Nathan Drake and Solid Snake.
Real bros: Nathan Fillion and Brendan Fraiser when they were both a little younger/less chubby.
Also I have a ladyboner for Alternate-Universe Jadzia Dax in Star Trek Deep Space Nine. She just looks so pretty with that short haircut! *o* Also her acting is the least despicable of the entire alternate universe cast. -
I have once been who looks just like Docfessor Farnsbrown

I guess it's up to the person. This question could be rephrased for all races, ages, creeds, and so forth, which can obtain a bad rep. I bet pretty much all nice, normal Christians are embarrassed by and don't want to be associated with the Westboro Baptist Church. If I were them, I'd make some mention that "not all people in our gang is like these specific people who make us ALL look bad" or take some effort to fix that reputation. I can't say if it's a good or fair thing to do, but it happens all across the board, where ever certain groups of people are negatively misrepresented. I can't tell you how many people in Jersey hate the Jersey Shore show because of the bad image it gives everyone who even steps foot in Jersey.
"It depends on if the individual has any loyalty for the group they're in... especially if they're not voluntarily in it." Says VoidBoyfriend, very succinctly. -
Alternative Jazzy Santa, it's a little less mainstream and a little more weird than Jazzy Santa.

Same thing, just talk.

You really don't have to say anything, you could just start the sentence as normal. Or say "So" or "Anyway" or whatever if you really need something to open a sentence with.

For those who read this and don't know what it is: "The Prime Directive, also known as Starfleet General Order 1, is one of Starfleet's most important binding principles about noninterference in another culture's internal affairs, natural development and progression. The Prime Directive forbids Starfleet officers from interfering with the social order of any planet."
I get where it comes from, since introducing advanced alien culture into a primitive one would completely change its previous culture, but there's so many instances where the Prime Directive is ignored or even goes unmentioned in an episode where they're violating the shit out of it!
I watched "The Quickening" (DS9) last night. Dr. Bashir goes and cures this illness that all the alien people on this one planet are born with. They were "cursed" with this illness 200 years ago for defying the Dominion. As a result, they had a whole culture based around death and worship of death. And Bashir just waltzes in and fixes everything without any mention of completely changing their 200-year-old death-culture (even though it's a fucked up one, but there's been far worse cultures in the Star Trek universe before.)
Meanwhile, in Deep Space 9 as a whole, Captain Sisko is sorta constantly breaking the Prime Directive because he's Bajor's Emissary (a religious figure prophesied in ancient texts), so he can't help but influence Bajor's culture, politics, etc. Besides that Emissary stuff, he did some extremely shady Prime Directive-violatin' to get the Romulans into the Dominion war.
The Prime Directive makes sense in certain scenarios, but the show pretends that you'll get court martialed for any violation of it... which no one EVER does, it seems! Like 80% of all StarFleet dudes violate the Prime Directive at some point in their careers, so it seems like an optional rule sometimes! -
I'm pretty good at taking my pill, so not really.

I don't follow it, but my opinion of it is generally positive. It's not offensive to me in any way, and usually manages to be funny. Sometimes the art style bugs me out, but other times (like when they did that, like... fantasy-themed boyscout troop storyline thing?) the art is super damn nice.

Me either, I feel pretty left out.

I haven't seen Buffy, but I love Firefly. I think he also wrote some of the dialogue in Twister, which is such a great, quotable romp of of a movie.
-
If my mom likes it, I usually steer clear of it (Glee, How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, etc)
-
Oogie's Revenge is pretty good, all things considered. The combat's dull and the audio is repetitive, but everything else was way better than I expected it to be.
