asked by RobyPantherThere are a few career paths that strike me as an ideal choice. I would love to run a business of my own someday, just a small shop, perhaps just an online store. I'm not in school and I am not planning on going back currently. I am in my current situation do to many twists of fate, but I'm not complaining. I am satisfied where my life is headed currently. I'll make progress slowly with time.

Right now I have no intentions of it. I am looking toward a possible career in law enforcement. If that doesn't work out, I'm really not sure where I am going to turn to next.

Due to the amount of negativity projected towards me by so many people, I've grown to reject a lot of what others have to say. In a way, it's a sort of defense wall for me to put up when I am attacked verbally. In another, it's a way for me to let others know my mindset, that no matter what they say to me or about me, it will not affect my outlook on life or standpoints on issues. If someone likes me and wants to hang out with me, awesome, I'll be the best friend I can be provided they do the same. If they don't like me, fuck'm. I am who I am whether or not people like me for it. I will not conform to other people's ideals to make them happy and this is my way of showing it.

I am intending to start out as a normal patrol officer (as all officers do), maybe moving up to be a K9 cop or a motorcycle cop or something cool like that. I've not really thought too much about all of the options available to me yet...I'm trying to get in as a normal police officer first. Gotta walk before you run, right?

That's a wonderful question, actually...
The most important thing to me in life is relationships. And no, I don't mean just people you meet here and there, but I mean the few people in your life that you can really be close to and share your life with. A partner, and a few close friends. Material things are nice, but they come and go. I've already had my car stolen from me (with no insurance, go figure [cancelled it the month prior...just my luck]) and been robbed/had my place broken into twice. I've learned that it isn't THINGS that make you happy...it's when you get to enjoy those things with others that you truly enjoy them and know their value. You can have everything in the world, but if you have no one to share it with, it means nothing. -

The option is available to me and I may decide to do that in the future. Right now, however, I am working on getting onto the police force here where I live. If I am able to make a career out of the police force, it would give me a lot more freedom (I believe) than the military option would. (Not to mention, the police officer choice was always my first option anyway...I've wanted to be a cop since I can remember.)
I originally signed up for the Marine Corps because I didn't have the credentials or schooling I needed to become a police officer. Where I live now, however, the credentials needed are different/more lax and I am able to get on when I turn 21 in September. -
