With comics, the idea either comes to me and I write it down in my sketchbook/notepad with pieces of conversations that was funny or random ideas. I then make a quick sketch of a layout and change it till I'm satisfied. Then I ink and tone it in Manga Studio. Also, I letter it there with Anime Ace 2.0 font.

With other works it takes a bit more. For more ambitious works like the white mage work I sketched a few composition studies and lighting studies. I was (and still) learning how to emulate lighting and 3 dimensions on a 2D surface. I decided on a diagonal slant with concentric circles to create movement around the work and attempt at a dynamic pose. In other words, I'm trying to use the stuff I learned in those art classes! ^^

With comic I have a much longer time to work on, it's a mix of composition study, layout sketching and remembering the many rules I learned of comics.

With a webcomic that I have to churn out quick, I leave somethings I learned behind. I'm a bad girl. :P

It got pretty busy with the publish work I'm working on, but there is a script and I'm buying some lighting. Oh, and it need research and I scrapped my original idea of talking about SYAC and instead will have a list of the top issues of a hilariously offensive comic series. teehee!

I seen it around and never got a chance to try it. Once school is back in session I'll check it out. My college has a HUGE awesome indie comics library.

I grew out of them. Nuff said.

I only read very little of Umbrella Academy. Once I read all of it, then we can decide if the missile strike should go through or not. :P
