Most of the cast were only needed for the first part of the performance. So, instead of having them wait until the very end of the show just for the curtain call, they were allowed to go home.

We were planning to have two falcons onstage very briefly, but they were pulled from the show after the house program went to print.

Parking at the Hydro building will be available at 6:00pm (and doors to the Queen Elizabeth open at 6:15pm).

Yes! We'll have matinee performances of La Boheme on Sunday, October 28; of The Pirates of Penzance on Sunday, December 2 and 9, and of The Magic Flute on Sunday March 10 and 17.All matinee performances begin at 1:30pm.

Sorry - Get OUT tickets are available only to patrons under 30. Proof of age must be presented by each person picking up a ticket.
You can buy one ticket at the Get OUT rate and one at the regular rate and still sit together! Just call our Ticket Centre at 604-683-0222 and they'll help you out. -

You'll have a great view of the action onstage and the sound will be incredible, since you'll be right in front of the orchestra pit!
There will be an aisle between you and the pit, and then the stage itself, so your seats won't be right up against the stage. Let us know how it goes. -
That depends on where they come from!
Some costumes and props are rented from other opera companies, but quite a few of them are from VO's own wardrobe and prop shop. The rentals go back to where they come from, and our own items are stored here at the O'Brian Centre. -
We sometimes offer discounted tickets on the day of the show at the QE Theatre Box Office between 12:00pm and 4:00pm, but it always depends on availability. To guarantee your seats, your best bet is to call the VO Ticket Centre well before the performance you'd like to see: 604-683-0222.

Subscriptions update!
New subscriptions aren’t available online yet. We are still renewing our current subscribers. Once the renewal period has elapsed, subscriptions will be available online to everyone. In the meantime, you CAN buy a subscription for 2012-2013 by calling the VO Ticket Centre at 604-683-0222. -
Opera fans of all ages are welcome at VO! We recommend a minimum age of 6 years old, as sometimes younger kids have trouble sitting quietly through an entire 2-3 hour performance.
We don't have special tickets for children for Aida, but the Ticket Centre can help you find suitable seats at your price range. Give them a call at 604-683-0222. -

Some rules for you to remember:
Ticket limit is 2 per person. Tickets are only available for pick-up on the night of the show at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre: come to the VIP desk just inside the front doors. Each patron must show valid photo ID that identifies them as between the ages of 18-29. Offer isn't valid on previously purchased tickets and cannot be combined with any other offer.
