Just two with any sort of regularity: Hark! A Vagrant and Dinosaur Comics. The former is easily my favorite.
-
Nope. Not a superhero comic fan, though I've been intending to read them recently.
-
Including dead creators? Directed by Satoshi Kon, script by Keiko Nobumoto, animation direction by Makoto Shinkai, character designs by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, music by either Susumu Hirasawa or Joe Hisaishi. (Granted, a mishmash of geniuses does not a great anime make.)
-
Nope, nowhere near that yet. My pile of things I'm interested in but haven't watched just keeps growing, and that's moreso because of old things I'm discovering than new things coming out.
-
I'm not very familiar at all with the series, so no, not really.
-
CEREAL. The other two are also awesome, but cereal wins.
-
Fullmetal Alchemist is the obvious answer. Despite having access to all the DVDs of original AND Brotherhood at my anime club's library as well as streaming video for Brotherhood, and editing Ink's column about the latter, I haven't even seen five episodes of the show in my whole life.
-
Right this moment? Well, since I'm watching High School of the Dead, how about fanservice in a scene that would operate perfectly fine withOUT fanservice? All it does is take away my investment in the scene, it doesn't add anything to it!
-
Uh, probably the Unicorn, because IT'S A GUNDAM!!! but that's also because I have zero familiarity with the Beargguy.
-
I fractured my wrist when I was ten or so. I seem to remember falling off the deck of our beachhouse, but I think I just fell down like an idiot while running in the driveway.

Well, Chiyoko from Millennium Actress immediately jumps to mind, but despite how much I love that character, she's a little one-note.
Makoto from The Girl Who Leapt Through Time is great and I think her character is made quite strong by the mistakes she makes and the way she comes to grips with them.
Then there's the title character of Nausicäa of the Valley of the Wind. I've only seen the movie, so I don't know how she develops in the manga, but I always thought she felt like an anime version of a Gandhi or a Martin Luther King, Jr. — someone who is almost too good to be true — but her occasional failures to save people and animals serve to accentuate the passion with which she attempts to save them every time.
After that long, rambling response, I'm going to go with Makoto. The other two are great but can be a little bit too perfect sometimes. -
Otaku: Japan's Database Animals. But since that is directly related to anime/manga, I'll say I, Robot. (First time, actually. I really enjoyed it!)
-
What do I think it means? I guess it's a sort of contained strong emotion — could be excitement, exasperation, etc. What is my opinion of it? It makes people look silly, like most emoticons.
-
Uh, assuming I actually get up to Boston next year, BOTH! I run an anime AND gaming site, so why not go for broke?
-
Probably the shirt I'm wearing as a part of my costume in this picture (first on the page): http://www.somethingawful.com/d/comedy-goldmine/paint-goons-2.php?page=3
I dressed up as The Internet for Halloween once (a costume which I still think was sorta funny), but after foolishly posting it on Something Awful, I found myself immortalized in a "make fun of pictures of forum goons" post. Not my most glorious moment to be sure. -
O-oh my God, I think I am! What's that over there, is that a snake? Are you... are you EATING it? Truly this is a nightmare.
-
Can't I have darkness AND silence through the night? It helps me rest when I go through the rain the next day.
-
I've never eaten one, but I imagine they'd taste just like chicken.
-
It's just a silly name I came up with as a kid (to imitate my cousin's nickname in fact), and I used it exclusively online, so that now it's my de facto screen name. I still use it because it's completely unique to me, though I use my real name as well in some situations.
The name itself was just supposed to be alliterative (V's for first and last) and difficult to pronounce, hence the "mpt." I created a character behind the name when I was a kid, but I abandoned it after a while.
