Did it hurt when you got popped?
Believe it or not, my hymen is in the same condition now as it was when I was born.

What would a clothing collection inspired by you look like? These would not necessarily be clothes *for* you, but rather *about* you. Would it be formal or casual?Would the garments be experimental or practical? Would the colors be bold or subtle?
think givenchy meets chalayan meets pugh meets MMG meets owens meets 90s goth polygamist wife.

Although I appreciate the casual and subtle, I'm afraid that if I wanted to be honest with myself, a formal line with bold color (but not too bright) would be important characteristics of anything inspired by me. Practicality would be essential (nobody likes something that doesn't work; especially with an essential like clothing) BUT BUT there is always room for experimentation when it comes to flare and accent.
It is extremely important to differentiate confidence from a desire/need too attract attention. This abstract concept would need to be pervasive in the mind of any designer exploring this collection. Attention needs to be earned, not forcibly taken. Therefore, that thin line between invading someone's psyche at the conscious or unconscious level would be the holy grail of fashion design I would pursue with reckless abandon. Understand/control that line, and you WIN. -

I feel like I'm a pretty chill and laid-back person so the collection would be practical and casual with simple and loud embellishments. I'm the type of person that can easily blend into a crown but every now and then, I like to be the center of attention with I think a collection like this would represent well. Color scheme, I'd go with earth tones because of the natural quality and I guess to represent the absurd amounts of weed I smoke. I hope this means you're making me something so I can flaunt it around and spit out your name every time someone compliments on the garment! Is this what's happening Truett!?

Neither formal nor casual, it would be extremely uncomfortable, not flattering, and quite a hassle to wear. But if one woman (edit:person) understands it's, unflattery, and hassle; then this mystery designer has succeeded.

Well, you know I'm a big fan of dark colors. I'm not much of a designer but I am loving the see thru mesh look right now, destroyed garments, wedges, etc. I like baggy but sexy. Cleavage is an everyday thing for me

I'm a fan of big bold statements that stand out from the crowd. My style is predominantly simple, elegant, usually monochrome. Then one piece that is BAM!! YOU CANT IGNORE THIS/ME!! may be jewelry, may be one piece of the ensemble... but thats what i do.

God, that's a hard one. My taste is often so random at times that it never feels like I can have a cohesive idea in mind, but I'll do my best xD
I think I want to explore a sort of "Expressive but Refined" type look. Kinda going into experimental areas of like over accentuated or asymmetrical details (length of sleeves, cuts and fittings, pocket designs, etc) but done in a way that's exact and geometric so it doesn't look like the pieces were just thrown together haphazardly, but were done intention and meticulous detail.
I'd imagine it being a sort of upscale casual look. Not exactly the kind of thing you'd wear around the house, but something that you can wear for a normal outing but still turn a few heads and peak people's interests. Get that sort of reaction that isn't "What the fuck is he wearing" but more along the lines of "I didn't know you could get clothing like that.
For colours, I'm usually lean to monochromatic colors, but I love doing contrasting colour like black and white. I'm also a fan of designs like paisley (just the design, not so much the fitting 6 different colours into one image) and stripes, and I'd love to see designs like those being used to contrast against a more solid piece of the outfit. I guess the whole encompassing idea of "Contrasting Elements" that stand out and make you think more about the person wearing it rather than who designed it.
Apologies since I'm not exactly master of word expression in terms of fashion, but I think I at least somewhat expressed some of the kinds of stuff I'd want to attempt. -

It would probably be a women's line, about 90% dresses with 60% formal and 30% casual. I feel a mixture of practicality and experimentation would be implemented in the designs. That way bases are covered but not at the expense of distasteful clothing. I will say, I'm really great with color. I'd find harmony with both.

While I agree we cannot know what opportunities the future may bring, & *plans* are often useless, I've found that, by setting *goals*, we can give ourselves a purpose & a direction in which we might confidently strive. Do you have a "dream job"?
A dream job, I would love to be paid to travel. My travels would be extensive and last long periods of time. This would allow me to absorb as much culture as possible while giving me time to do other things I love like drawing and design.

A collection inspired by me would take a look back at some of my favorite time periods i.e. when people actually dressed up for social gatherings. Everything would be practical, but you'd also be able to mix pieces to create different looks. To really get into me, the whole idea behind the collection would have to be classic, with a twist. You'd see mute colors in basic pieces, but they would be lined with bright and daring colors, purple for instance. I dunno, I can see it in my head.

I'm set to defend my PhD in a few months, with an exciting postdoc lined up, several publications under my belt, and my part of research project nicely wrapped up. But I've lost all my motivation to write my thesis. Any advice?
All the motivation you need is to understand that everything you've worked for will be lost if you don't complete this final tedious step. Now go write that damn thing.
