1. Batman
First movie I remember being pumped up to see as a kid. Still have my old VHS, need a DVD upgrade. To me, it is the definitive summer blockbuster.
2. The Godfather
I know it's sort of a cliche, but this is my all time favorite film and it really got me into classic films. It's so beautifully made, haunting, and awe-inspiring. It made me appreciate film and was a catalyst for me wanting to be a filmmaker.
3. Oldboy
I had dabbled in foreign language films before, but this is the one that really made me appreciate them. It's the right amount of humor and violence, and has one of the most gut-punching endings ever.
4. The Paper
An extraordinarily underrated Ron Howard film. It's 24 hour day in the life dramedy about a New York newspaper staff. My mom rented it for me when I was 13 and down with a really nasty virus. I watched it and became obsessed with it. It's all about the dialogue for me. Especially, Keaton's f-bomb laden rant to a rival newspaper editor.
5. Alien
One of the first horror films I ever saw, and to this day, still amongst my all time favorites. It didn't scare the crap out of me, but the facehugger bit did scare my mom when she came in the room as I was watching it with our brand new surround sound system. It's just an awesome film and a kick ass female hero, which I am all about! -
Batman. He'd blind Captain America with his shark-repellent shark spray and hit him in the no-no spot.

All I'm gonna say is...October 24, 200. :-D

We take Henry Rollins' advice and air drop the first two Ramones albums. Then we invade their countries blasting the third and fourth Ramones albums. By the end of the day, we'll be rocking in harmony.
