Kind of older question, but i agree about the dice roll.
Save scumming is on the border of cheating anyways, so why bother create a system that doesn't allow for it and take all the unpredictability and wiggle room out of speech? Now it's just "Read a magazine and pop some Party time Mentats" -

Cold, by a long shot. It's easier to get warm when it's cold then cool down when it's hot, and freezing to death isn't nearly as bad as burning alive.

It depends... Do the pirates have guns? How well trained are the ninjas? Where is it taking place? I'd have to say that ninjas generally have the advantage, but pirates aren't exactly helpless- It all depends on the battlefield.

Firefighter, man. What is it about kids and Firefighter? Why did we ALL. WANT.TO.BE.FIREFIGHTER? It's MADDENING to think about, really. I mean, if we were all fire fighter, there would be nothing to catch on fire.
