Comic books are the same thing as Role Playing for Dungeons and Dragons.Only the rules keep changing based on convenience of the writer and editor. Whereas TSR has an official rulebook that most people follow.
I think there's a great deal of difference between comics and D & D--one is a game that you play, the other is storytelling that you experience. So in one, you as the player get to influence the outcome, whereas in the other, it's entirely in the hands of the creators.
