I wouldn't say I find Alice Cooper to be the most poetic/philosophical/intelligent musician or even song writer, let's start there.

Secondly, I wouldn't say I feel compelled by them, but I can safely say that my personal political views do (somewhat) influence who I listen to. Not dramatically but here's an example.

      1) I don't like most Country. To me, everything post 98 sounds like pop stars with country accents. I do enjoy the Dixie Chicks. When they told off George W. and got their CD's burned for it, that's when I really started taking an interest in them. I went back and found their older stuff and they're a very patriotic band. Just because you're angry with your president doesn't make you less of a patriot. And I think they also write brilliant musical pieces (wonderful musicians each of them), and very romantic love songs.

      2) While we're on country, there's one artist who stands out to me like a sore thumb. Toby Keith. That jaggoff has made millions off the people he claims to be writing songs about but all he wants to do is support the idiotic presidents and their idiotic policies that put us into more financial woes, send more of our troops to wars over seas, and even worse, he is the most uptight conservative, piece of shit potty mouth to ever be painted "hypocrite". This guy seriously tells his audience in one song that God created all people equally and loves them equally, and then in the same year mouths off about illegals not deserving to see his show and his "disinterest" in the gay community. Also, those troops dying over seas? He goes and plays those songs over there for them. Real fucking tactful. I'm sure some of them love it, but I knew a few trooper who had to see him and they thought he was a real dipshit showing up and singing that song about rattling a dog's cage in not just 2003, but 2004, 2005, and 2006. Oh, and 2007.

      Idiot.

      c) I loved when Bruce Springsteen freaked out on David Letterman and yelled at W. and other politicians for not going to New Orleans to deal with the mess Katrina made. He had tears in his eyes as he began to play his song "How Can A Poor Man Stand Such Times" and I honestly feel he meant every word. He was furious. And I was too. Do I listen to him because of that song? Fuck no. Do I listen to that song now because I completely empathize with it? Absofuckinglutely.

      d) Dave Matthews has a great monologue on his Live in Radio City Hall album (featuring the great Tim Reynolds), where he says some thoughts on the war. He brings up that no matter how you feel about it, a veteran not being treated for his wounds is unacceptable. And he's right. And I don't say that because I like his music. I sincerely believe that.

He says that (and explains it with a story before it) at the end of this song:

Eh, no sweat. If you ever don't feel like answering one of my questions, don't. I really don't mind.

However, I do know your account, how you respond, and I like a lot of your responses. If I do ask you a question, it's not an accident. I tag you for a reason, your responses interest me.

    4. Ty Dugan

I try to do it but honestly, ti comes down to the fact that I follow too many people and want too many peoples input.

But seriously, I don't ask irrelevant questions. If I mass-question it's because I follow so many people who are interested in the same things. When I ask a question, it's meant to inspire a personalized RESPONSE. If I ask 18 people what would happen if Wolverine was dead for one year in marvel comics, I expect 18 different answers.
And I honestly look forward to each one.

The best way DC can work it is as such:

Make the movies as best as they can. Make the Unified Film (Justice League? I'd assume) work with every of the solo-pics, but don't make it so the solo-pics only work with JL the movie. I.E., don't make people feel it's forced. Let them enjoy the solo films if they don't want to have them together, let them enjoy Justice League if they don't want to shell out money for 3-7 solo films, let them see them all as connected if they want it that way.

It's all about control of script writing. Write them separately, direct them separately, cast them separately.

I think it was that god awful "Red Riding" movie...

      What was Gary Oldman thinking?

    8. Ty Dugan

      Sure.

-Full Metal Alchemist (Full series is out)

-Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood (dubs are on [adult swim], easy to find, also available on Netflix instant view.

-Gurren Lagann. (Longer name if you're watching the subbed version. Episode 7 is crucial, so make sure she has the full set)

      -Cowboy Bebop (naturally)

      -Samurai Champloo

-Mushishi (Fantastically done anime, quite beautiful. The dub is wonderfully cast, IMO).

Tell her to just have fun with whatever she watches! That's key! ;)

Super Mario Galaxy 2, memory foam slippers, a sweet pajama set, an awesome "THROH" blanket from the Yankee Swap, some carpets for my car, and much needed sweaters and long sleeved shirts. Oh and the lady got me some "USHER" cologne.

      Marvel.
      Hands down.

I love DC's animated shows, I love everything about Batman's franchise, but I absolutely believe Marvel has better characters. And that's just how I feel, and it's a harsh truth.

Besides, haven't you seen Stan Lee's re-imagining of DC heroes? That could happen >_>

    18. Ty Dugan

      A lot.

Do you mean just this year? None. Well... i watched last years HIMYM but that shouldn't count. OH!
      The Office.

      Besides that though, none.

Hmm... There's a lot of 'em but one particularly stands out.

During my 4th (hopefully final) open heart surgery when i was 10 I decided to go under the needle to the movie "Jurassic Park". What most hospitals do now (especially with kids) is they let them pick a movie, and once they're completely gone out, they pause it, and then replay it once said child starts waking up, so their mind has something to recall/re-connect to. It helps get the person cognitively awake and responding faster.

So... I was stuck with drugs that make you sleepy, wonky, and hallucinate, while I was watching mother-fuckin'-Jurassic Park.

Needless to say, that movie was never the same for me.
