The most sincerely nicest thing anyone's ever done happened when my folks and I were living at Motel 6 about 2 years ago. And the manager, this very nice lady named Lydia bought me a cake for my birthday just for the hell of it. Didn't even know she knew what my birthday was . . . it made a bad situation a little less woesome.
