Not at all! I actually prefer to serve single men as I know my conversation is more likely to be welcomed. Groups typically prefer to speak amongst themselves and I often worry that I am interrupting if there are two or three at a table. A single guy, however, means that my company is almost assuredly desired.

If you had a second interview then you are a contender, however, you likely did not completely blow the hiring manager away with your charm. If there is space I am sure they will hire you, however, if there are only a few positions available and the other interviewees did better than you you may not hear back from them.

I'm afraid I have no idea how much a typical Hooters manager's salary would be, nor do I know if it would be "worth it." I do know, however, that managing in any restaurant is quite stressful. You are responsible for ensuring that everything runs smoothly and it is you who receives the blame when it does not, regardless of if that is your fault or not. Hooters managers must ensure that all employees arrive at work on time, properly attired, with a good attitude. If anyone calls in sick the manager must find a replacement. The manager is in charge of ordering just enough food to get through the week without running out of things or ordering excess that will go to waste. Any issues between employees and/or customers must be dealt with by managers, as is all hiring and firing. Hours and scheduling may be long and will likely be very sporadic. If another manager quits abruptly or falls ill they must have their shifts covered. It is not at all uncommon for the managers at the Hooters where I work to have ten or more days without a day off during these sorts of circumstances and they rarely call in sick, simply because they cannot. All of this requires a great deal of responsibility, self-discipline, patience, and a good work ethic. Perks...free meals, opportunities to advance, relative ease of getting transferred to another store.

Personally, I think that their "jokes" are extremely tired. Throw in a little slut shaming and a dose of generalized, "Hooters Girls are stupid," and you've got the contents of just about every internet thread regarding Hooters. Meanwhile, the women who they are mocking are likely making much more money than they, especially the one who is now a calendar girl and will likely see a fair amount of modeling work come her way.

Hooters does hire males as hosts. I believe that they wear polo shirts with the Hooters logo and khaki shorts. There may be other options depending upon the store.

Something figure flattering that you feel comfortable and confident in. Heels are always good, a little bit of cleavage is good, and you cannot go wrong with a pair of fitted, dark denim jeans.

The benefits that are available vary wildly from state to state and store to store. I really cannot answer this question for you, I am afraid. I'd recommend speaking with the managers at each specific store if you wish to know more.

I think most women look at the uniform, see the ridiculously short shorts, and fail to realize how key the industrial strength pantyhose is to making everything work. During my orientation, when I tried on the uniform for the first time, the manager had no pantyhose for us to wear. The two other girls who were at orientation with me and I were not pleased with how we looked in uniform without the pantyhose. All three of us were on the verge of telling the manager that we simply couldn't do it. Fortunately, a girl who already worked there assured us that once we had the miraculous pantyhose we would all look fine, and we did!

Most of the Hooters Girls that I work with are between the ages of eighteen and twenty-five, however, there are plenty of women working at Hooters in their late twenties, and some stay on in to their thirties. I'm sure you'll "fit in" perfectly fine.

    12. K.H.

You must be at least seventeen to hostess, eighteen or twenty-one to serve, depending upon your state's alcohol service laws.

It's very possible that this was a brush off, however, it is also possible that there simply isn't room for any more hires at the moment. For all you know, eight girls may have been hired the day before you applied. I'd recommend checking back in periodically. Perhaps once a week for a few weeks, then in another month go back in and speak to the manager again. If you are still getting the same excuse then it was likely a brush off all along.

They can, though this will depend upon traffic at your store and your personal attitude. Some of the girls I work with simply cannot make more than sixty or seventy on a day shift, whereas others consistently make at least a hundred or more during a three to six hour period.

My opinion on how it, "looks," for a new mom to be working at Hooters is hardly unbiased, however, it seems to me that the best parents place their child's needs first. As spending as much time as possible with your child is the best thing that you can do for him or her, especially during those first few years of development, it seems that working a job where a minimum number of hours are required to support you both would be best. This may or may not mean working at Hooters, however, hypothetically I could likely support myself and a child with approximately twenty to thirty hours of work each week. This simply wouldn't be possible in, say retail, where I'd likely need to work full time and try to obtain as much overtime as possible. Another thing to consider is how flexible schedules are at Hooters. It will likely be very easy for you to get a schedule that works well with your child's schedule, day care/babysitters, and so on. As I said, I am biased, however, I think that as a mother what, "looks," best is to place priority on the time that you and your child spend with one another, something that will likely be made easier by working at Hooters.

There are three general shapes that I see a lot of. One is a very slender, lithe shape. Small chests, flat stomachs, narrow hips, and slender legs...some almost boyishly built. The second would be an hourglass shape that consists of a small waist and proportionally large hips/butt and chest. The third body type that I see commonly is that of a woman with a very, very large chest that almost overpowers the rest of their body, which may be slender or not.

Hooters Girls must be able to fit in to the uniform, the largest of which fits an approximate size eight/ten.

    16. K.H.

I really shouldn't be encouraging this...On one hand I want to know why you would want these things, on the other I don't want to know at all...

Yes, there is a way. It has been done before. Your best bet would likely be craigslist as asking your waitress at Hooters in person is a good way to get kicked out.

    17. K.H.

      Thank you so much!

Yes, I've been just perpetually sick these last few months and haven't been able to figure out why. Now I have an answer to that, if nothing else!

    18. K.H.

The best times are generally Monday through Thursday, between the hours of two and four. These times are the slowest for most restaurants. It wouldn't hurt to check out the current sports season's schedules; games are often on at odd times and a Hooters may be busy at a time when they are normally not.

I would recommend either arriving at Hooters with an application that has already been filled out (you can find applications online) or fill out one when you arrive. Speak to a manager upon completing this application or before leaving if your application was pre-filled out.

    19. K.H.

There are only a few black girls working at my Hooters location, however, only a few come in to apply. My managers have never shown any tendency to hire a less qualified white woman over a more qualified black woman; there simply aren't many black girls seeking employment there, perhaps because they do not see very many working there. Anyhow, unless you encounter a very prejudiced hiring manager, your chances should be great.

    20. K.H.

I am a size three and I wear a xxs so odds are it will fit you too. As far as making sure the uniform looks good when you try it at on, I would recommend wearing a nude or white pushup bra and a nude or white thong. This will give you your best cleavage, eliminate awkward pantylines, and so on.
