Lots of reasons actually. First, I got jealous of how HS people are so close with each other. What started as a trivial reason turned to something insightful when I realized that it in a doctor's career, belonging to a close network is indispensable. People always say that HS lack Bio subjects, though it's true, everyone will still have to go through the relevant Bio subjects come Medschool. For the mean time, might as well learn something new like developmental studies, accounting, stat, etc. It won't really hurt your NMAT result, as it is just the basics of everything (that's what they say) which HS have. Never mind the edge they talk about if you're a bio major, that's just in the beginning. Second, if ever i'll really push through to medicine, I'd like it to be in ASMPH and BS HS is a feeder program for Ateneo Med School. I don't want to be a doctor all my life. Someday, I want to own a business while I enjoy the freedom a doctor will never have.
