I recently read Michael Chabon's "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Klay," and it was absolutely phenomenal! I can't recommend it enough.

OH MAN OH MAN OH MAN:
- Quicksilver: An incredible incredible app launcher. You won't realize why you need it for a week, but after that, you'll be unable to use a computer without it.
- Divvy: Dead simple window management with hotkeys.
- Sparrow: An email client that is a ton better than default Apple Mail. Can you say INTEGRATED DROP BOX FILE ATTACHMENTS?!
- F.Lux: Changes the color temperature of your monitor based on the time of day. Makes it much more comfortable to use your computer at night.
- VLC: An infinitely better media player than quicktime, and it just got a substantial update which made it even better!
- Chrome: Duh.
- Growl: Unified system notifications!

Absolutely. I think this is especially noticeable with Arrested Development. it's amazing how far in advance they set up jokes, and each time you watch, you can see earlier and earlier references. Most noticeable with Buster losing his hand. They foreshadow that for nearly a full season before it actually happens.
