Wow, Formspring, just WOW. You have failed SO HARD, you have road-rash on your backside. You have officially rolled a CRITICAL RESEARCH FAILURE.
This, dear readers, is why I urge you to do at least cursory research. -
They're gender-neutral pronouns, used to mean "he/she/other." I pronounce them "zeer" and "zeerself," though since I didn't invent the words and I've never heard anyone else speak them out loud, so I'm not entirely sure if that's correct. I use it because it's easier to type out than "he/she" and "himself/herself" all the time, and not every character out there can be classified as male or female.

1. I don't mind romance, but I tend to avoid stuff marked as romance because the romance tends to eat up the plot.
2. I'm not sure what you mean by "where." Right now, I'm mostly reading Homestuck, so...
3. No, I don't beta, and I tend to avoid WIPs because most of them die. :P -
Dude, if you want to make your knight a cat for the lulz, then DO IT. Better yet, put your cat on a team with a hamster, an owl, and a Pomeranian.
(Though, on a more serious note, if you're roleplaying with other people make sure a cat is okay with the GM/other players first.) -
Knowingly supporting Eldritch abominations that feed on human emotion would be, to put it mildly, grounds for immediate dismissal.
Supporting the moralizers could probably fly by until the knight started enforcing or defending their more nonsensical rules, especially if violence against civilians is involved. -
I generally prefer soft SF right now I wouldn't say I write "a lot" at this point, but do write a bit. :)
-
Here are a couple of options:
1. Turn into a small insect (eg, a beetle or fly) with a unique pattern that the knight will recognize and land on the back of their hand or something (which will be understood to be a signal).
2. Turn into an ordinary-looking bird, but use a unique birdcall from a distance that the knight will recognize as a signal. -
Normally they'd be called things along the lines of "Green Hammer" and "Blue Asclepian," but there's nothing to actually stop them from calling themselves something more dramatic, or silly...
-
Considering that the movie came out years ago (and seems to have been largely forgotten) whereas the latest book came out several months ago, I doubt it would make much difference. That said, most of the people I've run into who didn't like the books disliked them for reasons that had absolutely nothing to do with the movie - eg, the plot was a poorly-constructed pastiche of other SF plots, there were patches of purple prose and misused words all over the place, and the story in general was chock-full of unfortunate implications and unintentionally-creepy moments.

Make Question of the Day optional. >\
-
Nope; it's a security thing. That said, they could transform real fast, heal up, then untransform and resume their vegetable massacre. However, that's not really recommended unless there's absolutely no chance of anyone seeing them transform.
-
They won't be able to recognize each other unless they actually reveal their civvie selves to each other.
-
A team can have as many/few knights as you like, since there's no official team structure per se. They can also call their group anything they like. :)
-
1. The costumes are magical, ala magical girl shows.
2. In-universe, it's decided by some magical, mysterious process. Out-of-universe, it's decided by the GM and/or other players. -
Aw, I'm glad it pleases you so much. :)
-
No, I really don't know. I don't actually know of anyone who names their cats thus, myself included. That said, the Goth/Vampire Name Generator produces names along the lines you described. If you think that's the sort of name that befits a cat, then I recommend you try it. :)
-
They were created to be helpful, so I don't think they'd have a personality that would make them particularly difficult to deal with, but I don't see any reason why they shouldn't have unique quirks and whatnot. :)
