Awww sorry!! BUT I have a pretty good exciting vlog idea if I do say so myself...you'll have to wait another couple of months, but it should be worth it!! not just me rambling endlessly at a camera haha! clue: it involves running:)
-
hey!!! if you don't mind me asking, are you new to running? when I first started, I got a lot of blisters, but now my feet are all rough and callused and gross and so I don't usually get them any more! but that's just my experience anyway, so it's probably not true for everyone!
I have heard good things about BodyGlide though. they do a cream for your feet that apparently prevents blisters and chafing, so maybe try that? best of luck with it!! :) -
hey, and THANKS!! :) I don't buy carrot cake, I make it!! my fave recipe is from ohsheglows.com
and Soreen banana is SO SO GOOD you have to try it!! they also have a new apple+sultana one which is also awesome, and I can't decide which I like best!!! -
hey!! no I use vegan-friendly instant hot chocolate powder, and then just add hot soy milk! I buy this one from Sainsbury's: Cafédirect Fairtrade San Cristobal Drinking Chocolate 250g :)
-
I don't buy Alpro soy milk usually, just cheapo
own-brand;) I don't mind unsweetened, but it took some getting used to! most people prefer sweetened for sure though:) -
generally you'll get better at running if you run more (better aerobic fitness, running economy, etc.), but remember to increase your mileage GRADUALLY to avoid injury!! on an average day for me right now, I run 6-7 miles :)

I'm rarely hungry straight after a workout or race, but for optimum recovery it is best to eat/drink something with carbs and protein within 30mins of finishing your workout. more often than not I have to force it down, but it makes a palpable difference in my recovery, and I really feel it the next day! :)
-
personally, I do take at least one rest day every week, and if you feel like you need to, maybe talk to your coaches about it? it's a very personal thing, but I find it REALLY helps with my recovery and running in general! more experienced athletes (like elites) tend to take fewer rest days and just run easy like you, so if you feel that that works for you, then it should be fine! as I said though, rest days are definitely a good thing, and your coaches will listen to you I'm sure if you ask them about it:)

I'm normally a longer distance runner, but today I dropped down to the mile and ran a 5.20 (unconfirmed yet). I've only raced twice on the track so far, compared to a ton of xc races, so I'm not quite sure! I love both right now!! xc is SO fun though, and I love the team aspect of it too, so you'll really enjoy it I'm sure:)

I'm afraid I don't know exactly, because it can be for a number of reasons! have you seen your doctor about it? they'll check things like your iron levels and then have to see a gynaecologist and/or a nutritionist to find out what's causing it! hope it comes back for you soon! :)
-
no? I've never heard that anyway! wearing sun cream I guess will prevent that anyway I'm sure! sorry I really don't know anything about that!
-
miles?! haha more like METERS! I don't exaggerate when I say that running for just a couple of minutes was a real struggle for me, because I was EXTREMELY unfit. so yeah, it
took me a long time to build up to being able to run a decent number of miles per week! :P -
haha not at all! in fact, I make a point of eating a big snack right before bed as I usually have a run first thing! that whole myth about eating after 7pm or whatever isn't true:)
-
I'd like to say yes, but probably not, since I can't eat and run and I like food too much;)
-
originally, not that well. but I changed gradually (I didn't become vegan overnight, just swapped out stuff over time) which gave them time to adjust, and they can see how much I eat whenever we eat together, so they have no problem now! I do understand why it's often hard for parents to take it on board, and why it can be a worry, so just try and be patient
and maybe take it gradually like I did? hope it works out for you! :) -
oh yeahhhh all the time!! my friends are great about it, but I definitely get it a lot more from
older people (like my grandparents for example). but people seem to become much less skeptical after they see what I eat, as I eat mostly "regular" foods like bread, potatoes etc.
and yes, I had a doc's check-up recently and I am not deficient in ANY vitamins and minerals! I put this down in main to having a lot of fortified foods (like cereal and soy/almond milk) and eating a range of foods:) -
thank you so much!! I started running about a year and a half ago when I just turned 16:)
-
hey again, and SORRY FOR MAKING YOU FEEL GUILTY!!! honestly it was just me being lazy about responding!! this interests me too! I typically spend around £30-£40 a week on my groceries, but more when I splurge on more expensive things like non-dairy ice cream;) it changes so much from week to week, and some weeks it's more like £60! and birthday week it's more like £100000 ;)
-
oh no no no don't feel sorry at all!! I'M sorry for not answering your question yet! haha I've let my Formspring inbox build up so much! not offended in the slightest, and I'll answer it now:) <3
-
thank you!! and I love this question!! 10 years is a LONG time for running...considering how much has changed in the short 1.5 years I've been running, I know that anything can happen! I'd love to have run at least one marathon though, and got fast 5k, 10k and 1/2 marathon times! and most of all to still LOVE running!! :)
