Because some of them have just managed to stick around longer. The ones we tend to call mythologies seem to have many more ridiculously specific details that people just can't swallow, as well as being poly-deity systems. Not to mention a bunch of the cultures these came from were either destroyed or rebuilt into a completely different society. Current religions still have a lot of ridiculous points to them, but people need religion to cling to when they fear death and don't know how to explain life. I'm not claiming to have all the answers, in fact it's just the opposite. I simply think the idea of any religion is preposterous, especially when there are so many, and so many that have "expired" as you said.

Their presence in the same room as me, and an interesting ice-breaker probably.
-
Neither. I question everything and hide nothing.

I'd get rich making ridiculous bets on the principle that I couldn't die.

"You can't understand me, so you know, whatever yo."

Perhaps not all the time, but we all have our flaws. I do try my best to be friendly as well as tolerate other's faults. So in a sense, I suppose.
-
Nope, because I still haven't mastered the art of conversing telepathically. YET.
-
Yeah, but I was 15 at the time, and that's about par for the course when you're 15. CHILDHOOD!

Sloth, because it's a cool animal.

It really depends on what kind of forum you're looking to join, and what your interests are. There's many forums out there on the internet and chances are there's one dedicated to your own passions or interests, so start looking for an active forum based on something you like to connect with people you would probably get along with and talk about that stuff you love. If you just want an active forum with a lot of people talking about whatever, I'd recommend the Newgrounds BBS, one of my favorite forums.

The latter, though I don't ghost-write for people, so that's a bit irrelevant haha.
-
Why don't you like Matt Smith?
-
Haha indeed, it's pretty silly considering that the lyrics they "come up with" aren't even that great anyway. I bet they are capable of writing good stuff but they have to have ghost-written tracks because those songs are carefully calculated to generate mainstream success through various pop formulas.
-
I was actually introduced to the show with a Matt Smith episode, I'm currently in the process of going back and watching Tennant. Matt Smith is great though.
-
Well I never have done a ghost-written track, and I would feel really weird recording something if it had been written by someone else, unless it was for a very specific purpose or something. For example if someone wrote a song and they wanted me to do their hook because I would specifically sound good on it, you know? But a full song? That'd be strange.
