I have fairly dry skin and I do my best to moisturize & make it look its best, but I can never find a good foundation or powder. Do you have any suggestions on what types of foundation and powders have worked best for you? Yours always looks so nice! <3
Thanks! When it comes to dry skin and foundation...less is more! After all, the more products you pile on your skin, the more it is just going to flake, clump, and crease. Not to mention, dry skin looks terribly matte and dull with too much foundation on.
If my skin tone is uneven or I have a lot of blemishes, I follow my Dry Skin tutorial on my site:
http://www.squeakmachine.com/TutorialList.php?section=make-up
(down at the very bottom)
If I'm doing make-up for just an ordinary day or my skin is behaving okay, I just:
-cleanse and exfoliate (if needed)
-use moisturizer and sunblock and allow it 15 minutes to sink into skin
-apply a face primer (I use MAC's Prep + Prime but one is as good as another)
-use a creamy concealer (I use MAC's Select MoistureCover) on blemishes, under eyes, and any place skin looks discolored.
-set with a light brush of powder across entire face (I use MAC's Studio Fix)
And that's it!
The primer has enough stick to keep my powder in place all day. I know it doesn't seem like much foundation, but it really does work well. And it feels super light on the face.
Hope that helps!
