This really depends on the context a lot. In the grand scheme of things, I'd like to believe that the more important thing is what you know, but in my local area when it comes to getting a job, it really does often seem to matter more who you know. Perhaps that is more important in some ways, because a skill can be learnt, but knowing someone and trusting them is a huge benefit.

A meal I had in Prague once. It was absolutely terrible, it literally looked like a really mouldy sock... I simply couldn't eat it (and if you know me, that's a massive statement!)
