Most folks'll recognize him as Elvis Presley. But don't you dare ever call Bubba that to his face. He gets real upset.

I think we're a long ways away from a human-style marriage. Think about it. A marriage is a commitment that you make, with the best intentions, for life. To make a marriage commitment with anyone, I'd want to make sure we agreed about a couple of things like kids, living arrangements, money, workin. You can imagine all those things get even more complicated if you decide to marry a vampire, especially when you add the whole aging thing into the mix.

I've said it once and I'll say it again. Eric would win an international butt competition, hand down or cheeks up.

Here's what I understand. You've got to have three major blood exchanges with a vamp. Not like a little blood. I mean a full on drink, kind of like the time I had to feed from Bill after the Rattrays. After each and every drink, I guess the connection between you and the vampire grows. You can feel each other's presence, emotions. Sometimes, it's just so close that you begin to have a hard time tryin' to figure out where you begin and the other ends.

Sometimes the bond gets a little too tight to bear. That's when you end up with a Renfield. Definitely not somethin' I want to be.

Are Eric and I distant, distant, distant cousins are something? I haven't a clue. I wonder if it's even possible to do a DNA test on a vamp to find out. If there were a way, I'm sure Maury Povich would do a show called "I am Your Dead Vamp Baby's Daddy" or somethin' like that. Blood tears EVERYWHERE!

    8. Sookie Stackhouse

I hope to never find out. And if he does, it's 'cause he's kinky like that.

    9. Sookie Stackhouse

Me time? I'd say that Eric sees me when it's convenient for him to get away from his vamp business. As far as Bill goes, he's a junior vamp if you compare him to a Sheriff or a King. And in his position, sure, he might say something is his, but a Sheriff or King can make him give it up in an instant.

If you're havin' casual one-night stands with different vampires, I'd recommend using condoms. After all, vamps can kind of go all night, and if he's or she's been double or triple-dippin' with an infected human or two, you'd don't want to be hit by the gonorrhea stick. Right?

My Gran was a kind, loving, sensible, and open woman. Given how easily she accepted Bill, I have no reason to believe she wouldn't have accepted Eric. That is, if he behaved like a gentleman. Then again, if he flirted, she'd probably get all cow-eyed and giggly like a schoolgirl.

    12. Sookie Stackhouse

If that's what they want, of course I could. Who am I to choose whether or not they're with someone who make's 'em happy.

It's hard to miss someone you feel is with you every step of the way. My Gran wouldn't have wanted me to just let life stop after she passed. She would have wanted me to keep movin' forward, and livin' my life.

    16. Sookie Stackhouse

The black tanktops have grown on me. And if I did ask him to switch it up, he'd probably just waggle his eyebrows and offer to run around naked.

    17. Sookie Stackhouse

I already have. Given what I know about vamps and vamp politics, tellin' me the truth about the Queen would've meant disloyalty to the Queen and probably would've gotten Bill into some serious hot water.

Don't get me wrong, I wish he had told me the truth. Why Eric made him tell me, I still don't get. It's not like he had anythin' to gain from spillin' the beans.

    18. Sookie Stackhouse

Why does it always come down to this?

I've got love for both of them. For totally different reasons.

Bill is my first love, my first everything. He's steadfast. He's told me that he loves me without hesitating. He's also told me he'd be willing to die protecting me.

Eric is exciting. He gets my sense of humor, somethin' that puzzled Bill from time to time. For a dead guy, he seems to find more joy in living than most people I know. Life with him is always intense, never boring.

For all of their pluses, the one downside to both of 'em is that they can't ever really give me what I need which is time. Kind of ironic if you ask me.

    19. Sookie Stackhouse

Let's start with Eric not likin' Bill. I wouldn't say that's exactly true. If he didn't like him, he wouldn't trust him with my life all those times that he did.

Now, as far as lovin' Eric, let me refer you to Dead in the Family. Chapter 1. Page 6.
