There's always hope since one of you guys could figure it out by ear and run it by me for corrections. As for me, I've started the Mull tab but haven't been able to work on it recently. I may be able to finish it but it does depend on how much work I have to do, which is a lot right now!

It was just a case of making sure that there was a common note in the end of the song with the key of the next or even modulating at the end of the song so that this was the case. I use a bunch of tricks for the transitions, such as pedal notes in the snyth, synths in general and backwards guitars and cymbals. For two of the transitions, I wrote entire electronic sections to help with the transitions. And obviously, make sure that there are no gaps between the tracks!

The one thing that sticks to mind is when we cooled a superconductor down to below 7 kelvin with liquid helium and you could actually see the transition from normal metal to superconductor happen right there on the oscilloscope!

It's a Feynman diagram which shows the annihilation of a positron and an electron into a gamma ray and recombining into an electron-positron pair afterwards. Although saying that I release that I've made an error in that the arrows for the positrons should be the other way around :/

I moved to Scotland in April of 2002 and I actually lived in South Africa before that! I only lived in Burma until I was about two years old.

And yup, I have a Scottish accent when I speak :)

Well, you're probably asking the wrong person since I study physics! In my experience, there is no substitute for good honest hard work. Put the hours in, learn your theory and get your guitar technique right and you'll be fine!

I think you're asking about songwriting. In that case, yeah, I just kind of sit down and write as I go along. Occasionally I might have the odd riff written but mostly I write and record as I go.

I don't make backing tracks unless somebody asks so I don't have anything to hand right now, but if you have specific tracks in mind I can try and help you out!

I don't have monitors and the headphones I use are far too bass-heavy for me to mix with! I just kind of compare my mixes to other songs for reference and go from there!

Well, I've never really done anything except my physics degree to be honest! I've been working on music as a hobby really during my holidays in between semesters. If I do play live (and trust me, I want to) it's going to be with a full band. I think it's the best way to try and represent my music :)

I actually write as I go along. Usually I would have a riff written and I would record there and build it up from there. For drums, I use Superior Drummer 2 and I actually use amp sims for guitar.

I'm pretty sure I answered you question on Facebook but here it is again! The lead one is pretty much the same as the rhythm tone but with more gain and a mid boost!

I use 4 Recabinet impulses, two of them are mesa boogie cabs and the other two marshall. The strat-like guitar is actually just that, a Fender Strat! It's an American Deluxe Stratocaster to be precise and I use it on Isles, Skye, Jura and Arrow + Knee = Adventure Over. I use my Ibanez RG1527 for the other songs!

Depends on whether you mean playful and bright in a mixing sense or in a songwriting sense. Mixing is just trial and error, trying to get the right frequencies overall (usually high end for a bright sound, but it's easy to overdo!) and trying to get everything sounding cohesive and together. In a songwriting sense, I pretty much just mash min7 and min9 chords in ways that provide that interesting 'colour' in music that I love to use!
