GO THERE <3 If you applied, I hope you got in!! And I'm not sure who you are, but we should meet up when we're in the US!

IB art finished today :P And theatre's basically done.
In terms of subjects with proper exams, I'm not sure... -
I want to be your derivative so I can lie tangent to your curves.
^ so sexy :P -
I have no idea what you're on about. Language orals *sigh*. I already failed mine.

Well, last night was the g12 art "sleepover", so we stayed up most of the night making art and then slept in the next room for an hour or so. I almost saw the sun rise. It was super fun :D
I was exhausted today and so just stayed at home for the most part, and I guess I'll start my homework tomorrow. -
Umm..... I should know this since I studied it for my exam, but I got a 5 on my abnormal psychology paper :P This is what I found in the revision notes I made:
Major depressive disorder
MDD is an affective disorder: this is a disorder characterised by dysfunctional moods.
Diagnosis and symptoms
According to the DSM IV, major depressive disorder can be diagnosed when an individual experiences two weeks of a consistently depressed mood or a loss of interest and pleasure. In addition, the diagnosis requires the presence of at least four additional symptoms such as: loss of energy, feelings of worthlessness, thoughts of suicide, or difficulty concentrating.
Affective: feelings of guilt and sadness; lack of enjoyment or pleasure in familiar activities or company (loss of interest in the world)
Behavioural: passivity; lack of initiative; disturbed sleep cycles; avoidance of social company
Cognitive: frequent negative thoughts; faulty attribution of blame; low self-esteem; irrational hopelessness; may also experience difficulties in concentration and inability to make decisions
Somatic: loss of energy, insomnia, or hypersomnia; weight loss/gain; diminished libido
In major depression, symptoms such as the ones outlined here interfere with normal life activities such as work and relationships. -
Yeah okay I was lying when I said I got 32. I actually got 44/42.

Same, I can feel the pre-sickness symptoms such as a sore throat and sensitive skin. I just hope it doesn't escalate into a full blown illness. Haha I was thinking the same thing earlier! yeah, not good....
-
I certainly hope not. I definitely didn't study as hard as I should've, and the one subject I did study really hard for, physics, I got a seven on, so if I study hard for the rest I should be able to do alright

Mr McAuley told me that if your grades drop too much from predicteds, they'll put you on probation, which means you aren't allowed to take certain subjects and if you aren't doing well by December, they'll kick you out. It's kinda similar to how some people entered IB.
-
Haha I was predicted a 6 for English and a 5 or 6 for Spanish. I got 32/42 for mocks though, which is a huge drop from what I was predicted, and if I get that much in finals, they really do have the right to withdraw my application. Mr McAuley was telling me how they put some people who dropped about 3 points from predicteds on academic probation.

Do you take HL lit? Apparently I didn't actually have a proper thesis and so although the analysis I had wasn't bad, I wasn't deep enough as my thesis was too broad and impersonal, so nothing I wrote was good... or something along those lines. Yeah that's the thing, before I got my grade back, I actually thought the exam hadn't gone that bad, which is what worries me :P

HAHAHA paper 2.... worst exam EVER (besides my Spanish oral today). I got a 4 :( I forget the exam number, but it was something pretty terrible. I'm genuinely scared that I'm going to do really badly in finals and be put on academic probation by Tufts- or perhaps even have my acceptance rescinded!
This meme pretty much summarises how I feel about mocks. -
Haha if only I was as good as Haley...
